Dallas County officials spar over 'black hole' comment
http://cityhallblog.dallasnews.com/archives/2008/07/dallas-county-meeting-turns-ra.html ^

A special meeting about Dallas County traffic tickets turned tense and bizarre this afternoon.

County commissioners were discussing problems with the central collections office that is used to process traffic ticket payments and handle other paperwork normally done by the JP Courts.

Commissioner Kenneth Mayfield, who is white, said it seemed that central collections "has become a black hole" because paperwork reportedly has become lost in the office.

Commissioner John Wiley Price, who is black, interrupted him with a loud "Excuse me!" He then corrected his colleague, saying the office has become a "white hole."

That prompted Judge Thomas Jones, who is black, to demand an apology from Mayfield for his racially insensitive analogy.

Mayfield shot back that it was a figure of speech and a science term. A black hole, according to Webster's, is perhaps "the invisible remains of a collapsed star, with an intense gravitational field from which neither light nor matter can escape."

The idiocy of liberals is quite entertaining. Its a lesson on how people can really be stupid about obvious truths.

Should have apoliogized that the term Black hole will never be used when referring to anything related to Dallas City council. Instead replace Balck with ass, the symbol of the Democrap party and the IQ level of John Wylie Price. And they wonder why nothing gets accomplished in Dallas.

I'm glad nothing gets accomplished. The more time liberals keep spinning their wheels, the less harm they'll end up doing to the country. Liberalism is the great black hole of American politics. Oops, there I go again! ;-)

This is too funny. You just can’t make this stuff up.

I suggest we all get together and show up at the courthouse with signs:

“Ban the word blackballed!”
“Ban the phrase black hole!”
“Ban the phrase black sheep!”
“Make the scientists stop saying dark matter!”
“No more White-Out!”
“Boycott Black & Decker!”
“Stop calling it a black eye!”
“No more blackmail!”

I saw the film on the local news. The comment was made without ANY racial over tone, undertone or any other tone. The comment was made to express exactly what was going on, that money and paperwork going into the central collections office that is used to process traffic ticket payments vanishes, never to be found again.

Just this past Thursday I was paying a parking ticket at that very location and from the time I walked into the building until I walked out their was not a white face to be seen, except for the people there to fork over cash. We are talking entrance to exit. There was NOTHING but incompetent, fat, slow, eubonic speaking “affirmative-action” city employees, all of whom had work areas that looked like drunken college freshmen dorm rooms.

Commissioner Kenneth Mayfield’s comparison of the central collections office to a black-hole is razor sharp accurate. John Wiley Price and Judge Thomas Jones can K.M.W.A.

I read a few of the comments on the article at the link and some of them are hilarious. One argued that any use of the word “black” in a negative connotation was no longer permissible. Another stated that the negative terms like blacklisted, blackballed, etc. came from colonial times to put down black people.

Problem is, I believe during the colonial times, blacks were referred to by other terms. “Black” is a more recent term for African Americans. If you choose to adopt a term for yourself by an existing word, you choose to deal with the baggage that term already has. Perhaps they should come up with a different term for themselves. After all, no one is truly black but rather varying shades of brown or tan, the same as no one is truly white, just varying shades of tan or pink.

Another display of world class idiocy that results from selecting people to employ or vote for based on the color of their skin as opposed to their qualifications and accomplishments.

It is time for people in America to get over their hesitancy to call an ass an ass because of skin pigmentation.

But, that’s a different rant.

This whole thing was given us as a reminder of why government at every level of our country is so far behind and out of touch. This time it's a very local politician, but next time it would just as easily be a member of congress.

It is my considered opinion that America is in deep doo-doo and not likely to get out any time soon.

That prompted an "Excuse me!" from John Wiley Price (black), who declared the term racially loaded and offered "white hole" as an alternative. Justice of the Peace Thomas G. Jones (black) then joined in, demanding an apology from Mr. Mayfield (still white).

Mr. Mayfield refused, saying later, "Anybody who's offended by that statement needs serious psychiatric help."

Good for Mayfield standing up to this nonsense

It could be that Wiley Price is trying to divert attention from the question of where all the money in central collections has gone.

In the end, I believe that might well be a very accurate observation. No one is talking about the money vanishing, just the rantings of a lunatic acting offended over a non-racial term. He's either incredibly ignorant, or knows where the money is going, or perhaps both.

Menus all over America must be reprinted. No more "blackened sea bass" allowed. The government must now call "black-ops" double secret probation ops, and all karate participants will wear "the belt who's color must not be named" as their highest achievement.

The saddest part about all this is that many people will actually side with this idiot, because they want to show everyone how superiorly "diverse" and "tolerant" they are. Imbeciles, the entire lot of them.
