The Talk Shows
Sunday, July 13th, 2008
Guests to be interviewed today on major television talk shows:
FOX NEWS SUNDAY (Fox Network): Tribute to Tony Snow with guests including Vice President Dick Cheney and commentator Rush Limbaugh.
MEET THE PRESS (NBC): Carly Fiorina, adviser to John McCain; Sen. Claire Mccaskill, D-Mo.; Republican strategist Mike Murphy; Harold Ford Jr., chairman of the Democratic Leadership Council.
FACE THE NATION (CBS): Israeli Ambassador Sallai Meridor; Sens. Carl Levin, D-Mich., and Richard Lugar, R-Ind.
THIS WEEK (ABC): Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger, R-Calif.
LATE EDITION (CNN) : Sens. Jon Kyl, R-Ariz., and Chris Dodd, D-Conn.; Govs. Mark Sanford, R-S.C., and Janet Napolitano, D-Ariz.; Nancy Pfotenhauer, adviser to McCain; Jason Furman, adviser to Barack Obama; Iraqi national security adviser Mowaffak al-Rubaie.
When I first started posting this thread, these two where the best of the Sunday shows. Now both are gone. While I respect Mr Russert and am sorry he passed, I loved Tony and am devastated by his passing. Truly a sad Sunday for us all!
A fairly good balance of both political sides this Sunday!
12:00 PM - 1:00 PM NBC's "Meet the Press"
1:00 PM - 2:00 PM ABC's "This Week"
2:00 PM - 3:00 PM "Fox News Sunday"
3:00 PM - 4:30 PM CNN's "Late Edition"
4:30 PM - 5:00 PM CBS's "Face The Nation"
Listen at the link above WHILE you FReep!
Just following along today from a trailer park in the Iraqi desert.
Goodness! Just like home (here in Alabama, that is)!
(Yes it really is a dry heat)
(I wish people would quit moving my keys around on my keyboard)
I’m sure Rush will take the AP to the woodshed again this morning.
Dittos to what you posted. I wonder if Rush will be on the phone, or in person?
I love your tag! I think there are many dims who would qualify.
Who is going to talk about the economy?
You are correct, target rich environment
“112 degrees today, but a 105 head index.
(Yes it really is a dry heat)”
So is a pizza oven!
Great pics of a great FReeper.
We’re suffering with 69 degrees this morning in NW Arkansas.
It has been a mild summer — so far.
Usually by now, we have temps nearing 100 — with humidity.
They just announced he’ll be on Fox and Friends as well.
Hmm Foxnews Sunday originates from Washington.
I just don’t see him phoning in to Foxnews Sunday though.
He was Gulliver in the media land full of Lilliputians IMO.
Rush is coming up on F&Fs about Tony.
I would love to see him live.
Last night while he was talking Greta blinked like a million times.
Wonder what excessive blinking means?
I hope it’s not a result of her plastic surgery.
I thought it was just because she was uncomfortable having Rush on.
I was just listening, not watching. I did think that she cut him off rather quickly.
She cut Rush short, didn’t she? He sounded kind of shocked—OK, bye Greta.
Rush on now!
I guess he will only be by phone.
yeah it was kind of like ok, bye greta.
quick cut off. maybe she had a hard break.
For Fox and Friends.
He’ll also be on Foxnews Sunday later this morning.
I hope he’ll be live on that show.
Probably some of that, too!
Still, she does work for Fox, and has for many years now. Tony was such a nice guy, and very friendly behind the scenes as well as on camera. Maybe she was blinking back tears. Like a lot of feminists I’ve known, they think it’s weak of them to cry. Sometimes, though, even men should have a cry.
That’s very possible.
Greta has done a pretty good job of staying fair and balanced at Fox.
She’s taken some hits from the MSM for it too.
I thought she was fighting tears, too, AB.
Rush knows about hard breaks. To me, he sounded surprised about how quick she cut him off.
They’re keeping Rush on after the break to talk politics!
I agree. I never watch her show, as excessive blatherings over the latest hot media murder trial never seemed like news to me, but I figured any liberal who could put up with being on Fox News year after year probably is pretty fair and balanced, as they say!
Yeah a lot of times Foxnews is just on as the default channel.
Greta does a whole mix of things besides murder trials too.
She’s interviewed many political figures and done other news too.
Many thanks for your great posting of those pics of our FRiend Tony Snow. I didn’t realise how much he changed over the course of his travail until now. My favourite recollection of Tony at the White House Press Office podium was a retort he gave to one of the MSM idiots to the effect of “Why do you embarrass yourself by asking a question you already KNOW will not be answered!” Many times they tried to trip him up, but he used his wit and honesty to zing them back to look like the fools they often are. We’ll not see his kind again so soon, sad to say.
I expect we’ll see him holding court in our Lord’s Press Room by and by.
Rest in peace, Tony.
You’re very welcome.
Great Rush...listing the things we cannot talk about with the Messiah.
I loved when the hostette talked about polls!
What can we talk about, Rush? Theoretically, nothing.
LOL Maureen Dowd wrote a column about his ears.
Rush says Obama sought out Dowd in the crowd and said
“Don’t talk about my ears. I’m very uncomfortable about my ears”
LOL first on the list was his was his big ears.
That story was hilarious!
Morning AB, All,
I shed a few tears for Tony Snow.
Guy deserved to live way beyond his time allotted.
I understand Tony was quite the Freeper.
If you stand real close to Obama you can hear the ocean.
