I don't know if it was ever pointed out here that this measure passed 63-5, with 32 Senators choosing not to vote, including both McCain and Obama. Click through if you don't know how your Senator voted.
TOPICS: Government; News/Current Events
KEYWORDS: 110th; call; congress; foreclosure; foreclosures; housingbubble; mccain; mortgage; obama; present; realestate; roll; rollcall; ussenate
Makes me wish you had to vote yes or no.

McCain has voted once since about mid-March this year. It was on April 8th.
Don’t push the guy too hard. He’s a busy man.

OK. I figured McCain and Obama might have actually been out of town - although presidential candidates do have a history of avoiding controversial votes.

Thanks for the response. Sorry if it seem like I was making the issue personal. Your last comments made sense to me.
It's generally accepted that Presidential candidates will spend so much time away from the Senate campaigning, that they will miss votes. I do think McCain has honed this to a new art form this year, but I honestly don't know how he compares to candidates who ran for the Presidency in campaigns prior to this one. The following links provide information concerning this year and the candidates who ran.
2008/04/08 McCain casts last Senate vote during his Presidential Campaign. By the EOBD 06/30/08, he has missed 373 votes or 61.8% of the Senate votes in the 110th Congress. His has cast one vote since 03/14/08. It was on April 8th. LINK
I haven't updated this since the 30th, but the Senate wasn't in session last week as near as I can tell. I didn't see any votes registered, so I'm fairly confident.

Dont push the guy too hard. Hes a busy man.Heavens no!
It isn't like he's a Senator and receiving compensation for his duly elected position.
He's busy promoting himself to being the most powerful person in the world for crying out loud. /s

If you want to get tweaked, go look at the numbers over there.
Pay attention to the folks who have missed a ton of votes, for no reason at all.
And then there’s my vegetable in residence in the Senate, who has a fairly good voting record, damn it! LOL When you wish they wouldn’t, they vote.

My senior Senator, (McCain) was too busy to show up to vote, but my junior Senator, (Kyl) was one of the five that got it right.

It should be called “Covering Our A$$ For Our Own Stupidity Act of 2008”. If it wasn’t for Congress mandating that lenders throw out years of reasonable underwriting practices and make homes available to “everyone”, this stuff would not have occurred.
