Video: O’Reilly rips the LA Times over Tony Snow commenters
Hot Air ^ | 7/14/08 | Allahpundit

Posted on 07/14/2008 9:13:59 PM PDT by Dawnsblood

Usually it bugs me when he knocks lefty bloggers for foul comments, just because if you have a site with any kind of traffic you’re bound to have a crank infestation to some degree. This time is different. For one thing, as chronicled by Patterico in excruciating detail this weekend, the LAT moderates all comments; everything that appears is apparently read and approved by an editor — or disapproved, in the case of Patterico himself chiming in to call the cretins over there dicks. Beyond that, it’s no secret per the sheer volume of death-wish crap after a prominent conservative dies that some lefty sites have an especially nuanced relationship with commenters like these. O’Reilly goes out of his way to congratulate Arianna on keeping HuffPo clean this time, but she’s only reached that point now because her site’s so notorious for vileness on these occasions that they don’t even bother opening comments anymore.

“Not really a Bill O fan but I think he hits it on the head hear.”

Bill is a true friend to Tony Show, in life and in death. He had Tony Snow sub for him on Fridays, and is sticking up for him now, and posting where to send money for Tony’s family on his website.

I don’t always agree with O’Reilly, but he is a loyal friend, and I love him for that.

Bill O'Reilly said:

"any one who does this will pay"

Unless they in fact pay they are provoking the reactions they sought and are gratified.

Contact your local papers ask them to not carry AP articles. Thats how you can let them know how you feel.

Most local papers run almost nothing but wire service stories because they’re so financially crippled they can’t pay to have their own reporting staff. Well deserved financial problems, I might add....

I canceled my LATimes subscription several years ago. I simply could no longer read their bias in every article. Too aggravating.

Maybe we should start something like a chain letter. Cancel a paper, tell four friends about it and encourage them to cancel and tell four friends. Eventually we might be able to put these Marxists out of work.

one wonders when liberals will be referred to as murdering communist scu&bags instead of just liberals.

PS-I would like to point out that Liberals don’t acknowledge the bias. I have said ‘you don’t see the bias because you agree with the bias’. They really don’t see it.

I’m sure they hate Tony all the more because he was once a liberal himself. Funny, that what’s perceived by them to be disloyalty would offend such an inherently disloyal gang....

If you want to offend a liberal, tell him that he doesn’t understand because it’s too “nuanced.” They think they own “nuance.”

I don’t really care for BOR, but the thing that comes to mind...I didn’t see any post- mortem roasting of Russert. Nor should there have been.

Tony Snow was excellent at what he did. I’ll miss him.

That’s always a good way to voice your opinion, yes. Also on Bill O, there was discussion on this, and suggestions that people contact/email AP execs/owners at the top in protest. This gets attention as well, especially in large numbers.

they go beyond disloyal. they are inherently evil, way beyond any idea of original sin. they are such scum that to refer to them as such is an insult to useful scum. their name should be treachery, putrescence, slime, useless tumors, poisonous vermin. (one wonders if the english language is up to the task of describing the duplicity of american liberal swine.)

IMHO

Well, do you think you could appeal to their sense of decency, at least? As bill o. said tonight to the AP - first of all, this isn’t appropriate as an “obituary”, and second, if you must write harsh critiques like this, can’t you at least wait until the man is buried???

BTW, their “critiques” aren’t even accurate and are way off-base. Tony was neither inaccurate or “out of touch with the facts”. He was exceptional in doing his homework -always.

hmmm - a bizarre parallel of thinking here, with Islam per the Koran - once a muslim “leaves the faith”, he then becomes an Apostate and is now marked for death.

Just the way my weird brain works, sorry. Personally, I think it’s wonderful that Tony, much like Saul on the road to Damascus, saw the Light!!!

but Tony WAS Fox News Channel - AND press secretary for GW.

As time goes by, I get more disgusted and disenchanted with the media. (as if that were possible)

Tim Russert put on a great show. I enjoyed watching him. Tony’s career was stellar. No reason to down either of them in the media, that I can see.

That said, about 80% of the posters suffer from Bush Derangement Syndrome...unless the story is about immigration, whereas 95% are against the illegals.

You think you got it bad, you should see the Philadelphia Inquirer. I cancelled out of that nightmare long, long ago after reading an editorial in which the paper chastised Republican politicians for "pandering to taxpayers".

Meet the depressed was great only once in a while, Russert was a polite master of the “gotcha!” in those shows. Tony, OTOH, was always a polite master of being positive and in good humor at whatever he was involved in. I could take Russert or leave him; I will miss Tony.

I told the new preacher at our church.....

“If you want our society to shape up and be a better place, it won’t happen overnight, but the children in the teen classes, encourage them to go into Journalism. Be the best Christians they can, and be journalists. We get Christians in the press, and possibly conservative ones at that, and eventually we will wipe out the liberal muck that’s destroying our country.”

The following week, he spent an hour with the kids in the teen class.

Paul

I called the Longmont CO paper that was sending me a free 2-week trial. I was very polite to the lady on the phone, but told her AP is very biased, has contributed to getting many more of our troops killed, and had the polar opposite views and ethics of mine. She said she had a friend serving in Iraq, and would forward my complaint to the paper's management. Whenever any paper tries to give me a free copy in the grocery store, I politely admonish that person as a purveyor of hatred and danger to our troops. it works, if we all do it - politlely but firmly. These scum need to be shamed for what they do to our republic.

Good job! I use to work at a TV station. The public does not realize how seriously management takes a few complaints on the phone. The first thing our manager did when he walked into the station was to head back to where the receptionist sat and ask for the log that recorded all complaints. I used this info to help (I believe) to convert my station from a liberal to a conservative one.

it had the connotation of “generous”.

now, after years of “liberal” abuses of the system, it has come to have a completely negative connotation.
