Hillary Clinton Asks To Keep Donor Money for 2012
NY Observer ^ | July 14, 2008 | Jason Horowitz

Posted on 07/15/2008 4:30:44 AM PDT by COUNTrecount

Hillary Clinton's campaign is sending out letters to donors asking permission to roll a $2,300 contribution to Clinton's 2008 general election coffers to her 2012 senate election fund instead of offering a refund.

The letter, read to me by one recipient, includes a photocopy of a handwritten note from Clinton that says, "Dear friend, your commitment has meant so much to me over the course of my presidential campaign. You were there for me when I needed you the most and I'll never forget it. I hope you'll help me continue to fight for the issues and causes we believe in by filling out the enclosed form in support of Friends of Hillary."

The form says, "I hereby verify that my 2008 general election contribution may be designated to the 2012 Senate election. I designate the entire amount to the 2012 primary election. However if I have already contributed to the 2012 primary, I designate any amount in excess of $2,300 to the 2012 general election."

"If we do not hear back from you by August 28 2008 we will automatically refund your contribution."

This donor, at least, had no intention of signing. "Of course I'm going to get my money back," the donor told me.

Hillary is pleading poverty! At least gets to be the Senator from New York for life. Most people would envy a job where you never have to worry about getting laid off.

Of course I'm going to get my money back," the donor told me.

It would be great if they would respond that the check can be made out to "Free Republic" in the name of the donor, hehehehehe!

Sounds she is hard up for money. She is asking for only $2300?

....election contribution may be designated to the 2012 Senate election.

She wants the money back to run for reelection to the Senate in 2012, not President.

if she’s going to save it and run for prez again in 2012, she’ll need:

a face lift,

tummy tuck,

and butt lift.

Didn’t she just go whining to Messiah Obammy for handouts??? She truly IS “the gift that keeps on giving.” I just can’t wait to see she and Slick Willy campaigning for St. Barack later this summer!!!

What about the people that donated that do not live in New York. Are they still allowed to contribute to another state’s senate campaign?

She’s not asking to keep it FOR anything—she just wants to KEEP it. And no, we haven’t seen the last of her this year.

She is asking for only $2300?

That's the most one person can legally donate to each candidate's official campaign per election cycle.

Ummmmmm . . . . . . . if I’m not mistaken, isn’t her campaign broke and ~$22 Million in the red??? I know she is a lying pervert and political hack, but how can she keep campaign donations for 4 years when her campaign for this year still carries unpaid debts?

Oh wait, my bad!! She’s a Dem politician (and the SMARMIEST . . . . er, SMARTEST woman in the world), so it’s okay.

No scruples, honor, morals or convictions (yet!).

OK, so she is asking for $2300 from each donator.

"Ummmm...no. No old woman Presidents in 2012!"

It says for her Senate run in 2012. In 2012 she'll be in the same situtation J effin K was this year. They can't run for POTUS and Senate at the same time, so if they get in the POTUS race they have to resign their Senate seat.

Kerry knew early his POTUS dreams weren't going to happen in 2008 either, so he tucked his tail between his legs and slunk back to his Senate seat.
