I read that account, Bahbah, through tears running down my face. Thank you, FOXFANVOX, for creating that account of the funeral. It couldn’t have been easy.

Your description of Juan Williams’ feelings was especially touching to me. I will remember that story. I hope it reminds me to share a little bit of the kindness and respectful attitude that Tony always showed towards those around him, including those who didn’t necessarily always share his point of view.

It was meant in two ways. Thanks for coming to the funeral and thanks for all you do for Conservatism. I hope he did not take it in other way.

You could always email him and tell him your thoughts. I do appreciate all he does for conservatism, too.

HC, the pictures do it to me, too. Especially the lovely portraits. I am glad I am not alone—it is comforting! It also really gets me when I see pictures that also have 1955-2008 on them. Ugh. That is painful.

Thank you for sharing that, Foxy. I know that it must have been really hard, but you took us there with you, and perhaps we can continue to comfort one another in our grief.

I lost my grandma and was travelling all day that Saturday. I didn’t know about Tony until later that evening. It was shocking. While I grieved for Grandma, I cried for Tony as well. I missed the tribute shows for Tony for obvious reasons, but when I did catch a glimpse, I found myself fighting back tears.

What a wonderful, decent man he was. I pray that God pours his blessings upon his family and holds them tightly in their grief. And you as well.

I know that saying thanks probably isn’t enough FOX, but THANK YOU for being my(our)eyes and ears Thursday Morning.
I just am still in shock, especially from what Jill and their children are feeling. The emptyness, the void that is left can never be measured by any means.
To see the pics of the FOX staff, the tears in BOR’s eyes, the empty look in Griff’s face(I swear he looks like he is 16)leaves indullable, life-lasting images.
The President’s words were so strong and point-on and struck to the essence of who we will always remember Anthony Robert Snow as. Family, God and country, the things that he cherished and held in such high regard.
And, I know this to be true. As Tony is looking down at us he wants us to continue his work, his passion and what he most believed. We need to do everything in our power to bring conservative success back to this great nation. It is a battle that will never be easy, but one in which we must accept, in honor of our dear FRiend Tony Snow!!!!

Play away Tony. We hear you loud and clear!!!!!

Thanks so much for always pinging me saveliberty.

I am still having trouble with his passing and it makes me feel silly sometimes because I never met him, yet I cry at the strangest times just remembering his voice. Maybe part of it is that I miss hanging out with the Snow Flakes. It was a special time.

I miss you guys, and I sure do miss Tony just being in this world.

If there’s ever a SnowFlake thread ping me for sure.

“Play away Tony. We hear you loud and clear!!!!!”

Those words started me crying all over again, cleveland gop. They would be a beautiful tagline even tho I’m sure I would cry every time I saw it.

I’ve been having own test of faith over Tony’s death. But then I think of Kendall’s singing Promised Land for her father and wondering where she found the strength, in all her grief, to be able to sing. And Robbi, bearing his Father’s ashes without sobbing, Jill tightly clutching Kendall and Kristi’s hands as they followed, but no visible tears. They were probably all cried out. Where did they get their strength? From Tony, who was everything to them, as they were to him.

When my Grandmother died, my Mother said “We’re not crying for Grandma, she’s in Heaven. We’re crying for ourselves”. I have to remember that. I think probably any music I hear from now on will remind me of Tony, our own Music Man.

I see I have a Snowflake ping. We need to keep them up, to keep gathering, for Tony! :)

Thank you for the ping and Foxy, thank you for your first hand account of the funeral. You expressed it all so beautifully.

Good to hear from you, retro. Sorry about your transition; it has taken your blog from biting humor to mellow.

Hi, polly. Your comment is too kind. Many folks here are gifted writers, just have to find the right forums. I feel especially undeserving of your praise since I reread the post and found spelling and grammatical errors. [Tony is no doubt making notes and I will hear about it when I join him some day!]

Blessings back to you.

Yes, it was not easy, but I felt compelled to try.

Two screens I used to evaluate strangers:

+ Do they like kids?

+ Do they like animals?

Guess, I can now add a third...did they like Tony Snow? He was such a descent man that he could disagree without being disagreeable to use a cliche. I do not know how anyone who truly knew him could not like him.

Charles Krauthammer just came out with another one of his hard hitting columns. With Tony gone, he is one of the few articulate voices remaining among the pundits.
