An outspoken Long Island gun owner's home was raided by Nassau County detectives, who seized two dozen weapons he lawfully owns just one day after Rep. Carolyn McCarthy's office made a 911 call about him.

From a google search:

“Interests
Flat Tax, Fair Tax, American Constitution Society, Ayn Rand, Bill of Rights Defense Committee, Free State Project, Constitutionalist, Right to Bear Arms, Libertarian”

Unusual? Cmon people, it’s New York. It’s Long Island for heaven’s sake! And she’s a Democrat!

Can you spot Rep. McCarthy in this photo? Bonus if you can name the minion monkey.

Man, I hope he sues the pants off all involved. He apparently made no threats, and obviously was not armed. I see no reason to confiscate anything belonging to this man.

This is just McCarthy acting on her own and she should be prosecuted.

I say the cops should confiscate her keys to her office, since she cannot handle them in a safe manner.

Lesson Learned:

Safely and securely OFFSITE ANY FIREARMS that you intend to keep BEFORE dealing with Congresscritters, especially socialist scumbags like the one in question.

Use common sense. We’re dealing with really bad people here, in positions of enormous power and damage-potential.

I wonder if any of his guns had the shoulder thing that goes up.

She’ll probably dream up some fake crime to arrest him for now that he is suing her.

Being a non-lawyer, I'd be interested to see if the public would be able to get the case # and the minutes... is that possible?

Only suing for $5 million is way too low. Sue them for $50 million. That will set off fireworks all across the country.

Exactomundo. Make it hurt the entire county, so the taxpayers think twice about re-electing this fascist scum with a D- by her name

I don't know the guy. However, by coincidence, we got a call in to Second Amendment Sisters a couple of days ago. A guy named John Curry from NY was calling trying to solicit funds for a Jack Martins. Curry is his campaign manager.

Martins is running for the 4th Congressional district of NY--against McCarthy.

I explained that due to the way we are set up,(401 C-4) the organization can neither endorse, nor donate to any politician or political party .

If anybody here wants to learn more about him, here is his website:

Johnmartins.com

He looks very conservative to me, and I'm sending him a bit of a donation. I'm sure that he would gladly accept donations from Freepers around the country, too. It would be such a relief to have Ms McCarthy relegated to the ash heap of history.

Correction! It's Jack Martins, not John Martins. Here's the correct website:

Well—today the website doesn’t seem to be working. I don’t know if it’s my fault or not! Anyway, if I get a corrected version, I’ll post it.

Thanks a lot!

I did finally figure out the problem--I was browsing with Firefox, and they wouldn't let me open it until I hit the "allow" button. I'm still getting used to Firefox, but I think I'm really going to like it.

For some reason your second link came up as http www.freerepublic.com/focus/news/2048861/Jackmartins08.com -- I think you may have left off the http;// and FR's translate screwed it up for you. :^)

I use Firefox too, it's great -- no popups, lots of extra bennies from addons, and no reports back to either MS or Google!
