SURFSIDE - Democrat Joe Lieberman, campaigning among Jewish voters in South Florida for fellow senator John McCain, said today he won't be the Republican presidential candidate's running mate.

"I had the opportunity to run in 2000," said Lieberman, a self-described "independent Democrat" from Connecticut.

Lieberman, who was Al Gore's Democratic vice presidential running mate, said he's looking forward to staying a U.S. senator and working with McCain in the White House to build a coalition of Democrats, Republican and independents.

Thank God! But...the promise of continued political "triangulation" amongst RINOs, Democrats, and the lone Socialist (to use the NYT's words) in the Senate is troubling.

What world do we live in where the Republican nominee for President would even consider this in the first place? Will we ever get back to conservatism??

Well, good—Leiberman is right on the global war on terror but little else. Besides, he’s already been a loser once as a Veep candidate, thank goodness.

The Just Say No to Juan McCain Ping List.

Building the McCain Truth File, one thread at a time.

Rejecting anything short of common sense conservatism.

To join: FReepmail rabscuttle385 to subscribe or to unsubscribe from this ping list.

This can be a very high-volume ping list at times.

We are exploring giving subscribers two different options for receiving pings: either to individual threads or to a single "digested" thread at the end of each calendar day. FReepmail rabscuttle385 if you are interested in receiving one or the other.

Take care to check the "mccainlist", "mccaintruthfile", and "mccain" keyword search links for related threads, since we can not possibly ping you to every relevant article that is posted. To flag a relevant thread, please add the keywords "mccainlist" and "mccaintruthfile".

Republican Commissar’s Warning: By joining this ping list, you may be subjected to the irrational rants and ramblings of McCainiacs, of "moderate" Republicans, of deeply confused conservatives resigned to voting for the lesser of two Democrats, and of countless trolls who simply want to meet a new overlord.

Per FR posting guidelines, we kindly ask that you be civil and polite in your comings and goings. Bonus points for being optimistic and in good cheer.

It is one of those mysteries.

Yes, a mystery like...whether the lights are all on upstairs for either one of the presidential candidates.

“What do you think of Romney?”

That I have recently convinced myself I might be able to hold my nose long enough and vote for McCain and even consent to letting Mrs. MWT donate $2,300, UNLESS he got Romney as VP, in which case, I’d have to vote 3rd party, and would hide the checkbook.

THAT’s a relief... helps maintain the utterly perfect conservatism of the McCain brand.

I’d vote for the ticket, but wouldn’t be excited. I’m a Romney-grudging-accepter, not a Romney-enthusiast.

To be exciting (to me), he’d have to pick someone I’d really love to support in 2012 or 2016: Hunter, or the like.

To crush me even deeper into the pavement than I already am, he could pick someone even to the left of him, like Dole, Powell, Hutchison, etc.

You?

“Republican nominee? You’re kidding, right? There is no Republican nominee.”

Neither party has a nominee until the votes are counted at the convention. There’s still time for surprises. Especially if the Obama buyer’s remorse event continues, and Ron Paul’s supporters continue trying to hijack local conventions.

Could be big drama for both parties.

"Will we ever get back to conservatism??"

Not until folks, in substantial numbers, refuse to hold their noses and vote for RINOs. It is all within The People's ability to accomplish.
