If Obama isn’t eligible, than neither is McCain.

He needs to be beaten on substance (he doesn’t have any) rather than a technicality. Nobody cares about the technicality anyway.

Nice catch. This newspaper announcement is not a government document. It essentially proves nothing by itself. If the Obama birth certificate is near this date, perhaps it buttresses the document in public opinion. Again, it essentially means nothing. It could have very easily been another Obama. We don’t know.

Cool. Where is the beef? And this makes the fake Birth Certificate all that more puzzling.

Neither one is eligible in my book because they both have an ego and temperament problem and are either full-blown or latent socialists.

Hopefully it will be discovered Obama and McCain are twins.

I wonder how much it cost George Soros to get this planted.

I’m continually amazed that this kind of rhetoric is still bouncing around in cyberspace.

If either candidate wasn’t eligible because of supposed citizenship questions … it would be front-page news. I’m sure that every lawyer worth his salt has investigated these questions, and if there were any true doubts about this question, lawsuits would be flying.

Obama was born. OK. I was beginning to wonder if he was created in some secret laboratory or something.

Yes. Hawaii has been incorporated territory of the US since 1898. A Hawaiian born between 1898 and 1959 is a U.S. citizen.

THAT can of worms is the eligibility problem a POTUS candidate faces if that person has ever held dual citizenship.

Why is the 'dual citizenship' thing a can of worms if the guy never claimed the second citizenship?

From what I understand, under Irish law I "could" claim citizenship in Ireland because by grandfather was born there. But I have no desire to ever become a citizen there.

Did Obama ever claim Kenyan citizenship?

This is not proof. So, if Obama was born in Hawaii, why the fake COLB?

Perhaps, he was born in Kenya (there is evidence to suggest that) and his mother put the notice in the Honolulu paper so all her friends would know.

How can he have US, Kenyan, and Indonesian citizenship at the same time. I have heard of dual citizenship, but never heard of triple. I guess if his step-father adopted him, it might be possible, but as far as I know there is no evidence he was adopted.

This is all very strange, but I do not believe we should give up on trying to get all the facts on this. If Obama isn’t elibible, then Hillary becomes the Dem candidate. There could be both advantages and disadvantages to that, but it would be the right thing to do.

Same as Goldwater (?)- Arizona wasn’t a state when he was born.

In reading the comments section after Texas Darlin’s post- I learned that it was customary for local births to be announced in the newspaper- the info did NOT come from the family, but from Vital Records.

Another poster stated it is not/was not possible for someone to hold dual citizenship in Indonesia- said he/she knew this from personal experience. I don’t know if that’s true?

I learn as much from reading comments as from the posts!
