Debra Bartoshevich received e-mail notification Monday evening about a conference call to decide her fate as a delegate. Rachel Strauch-Nelson, communications director for the Democratic Party of Wisconsin, said the group also tried to reach Bartoshevich by phone Monday afternoon.
The conference call will take place Friday and Bartoshevich will have an opportunity to explain why she should remain a delegate despite her reported endorsement for Republican presidential candidate John McCain.
ORIGINAL STORY: Members of Wisconsins Democratic Party will vote Friday on the delegate status of Debra Bartoshevich, a Democratic National Convention delegate from Waterford who has publicly supported Republican presidential candidate Sen. John McCain of Arizona.
Bartoshevich is expected to lose her delegate credentials, said Marilyn Nemeth, a representative from Mount Pleasant who serves on the committee that will cast the deciding votes.
The partys Administrative Committee will hold a conference call Friday to discuss a formal challenge against Bartoshevich. She will be given time to tell her side of the story and committee members will vote to maintain or remove her delegate status.
"If they decide to strip me of my status, they decide to do something un-American," Bartoshevich said. "Its not democracy. It doesnt stand for unity, which the party wants."
The challenge against Bartoshevich was filed with the Credentials Committee of the DNC, who referred the issue back to the Democratic Party of Wisconsin, said Rachel Strauch-Nelson, communications director for the Democratic Party of Wisconsin.
"They reviewed it and said it was within our authority to make a decision on it," she said.

why should she be obligated to tell anyone how she feels.
The Democrats being ‘inclusive’ again. This should tick off even more Hillary supporters. Great move.
So much for democracy and freedom of speech and choice. Then again, I expect no less from the modern Democratic party.
That’ll teach her to try to escape the plantation.
John McCain is to the left of John F. Kennedy, Harry S. Truman and even FDR. Up until the McGovernites took over the party in 1972, he’d be considered mainstream or even center-left Democrat.
Vote for our candidate or get kicked to the curb.
I don’t know why. McCain is a dem too.
I feel for her, they sound just like the McCainiacs. If she can't cast her vote for Hillary, she should be able to vote for McCain, the next best Democrat in the race.
Resistance is futile. You will be assimilated.
McCain may be too far to the left for our comfort, but Obama is so far to the left of McCain you’d need the Hubble telescope to spot HIS views.
I'm getting tired of popcorn. Anybody bring any pretzels?
I believe McCain is going to surprise you 'Obama FReepers'. His ACU liferating is in the 80s. Yes he goes against the GOP, but when I see why he does it, I agree with some of the issues - especially PORK SPENDING!!
I know you 'Obama FReepers' can't wait to see Obama screw up the country, but I believe it will never be able to be FIXED after dictator Barak, King Harry & Queen Nancy gets done.
please, think about seeing more LIBERALS on the Supreme Court, think about $10/Gallon Gas and think about higher taxes.
Gee, I wonder what the GOP would decide to do about Obama delegates in St. Paul.
You think the RNC would do anything different?
Well, personally I feel that if I have to vote for the guy out of default, the least I can get in trade is to be able to gripe about the poor choice that he is.
Forget the ACU rating that can be manipulated. John Sidney has missed more than half of the votes in Senate. Where it counts, he has turned against this country. McCain-Feingold, McCain-Kennedy, secret meetings with LaRaza. This will give you a clue why many here do not think John Sidney is qualified. To this add his adultery, his scandals, Cindy, not knowing the location of Iraq, and much more. CBS covering up his error on the surge is another goof.
Lady, the best thing that could ever happen to you is if they kicked you out of the RAT party. How dare you defy them. The GOP will gladly take you. There's not much difference from the way the GOP is now, and the RAT party used to be. The RAT party is about disenfranchising anyone who doesn't vote the way they want. As in the entire states of FL and MI. They are unamerican!
If she is endorsing or supporting the candidate of the opposing party, she SHOULD be stripped of her delegate status. If any Republican did the same, we’d be screaming for their heads. And rightfully so.
The real upside of this story is that the selection of Obama is doing exactly what Operation Chaos intended; it is tearing apart the dem party from within. Let them eat their own. Hope they have enough ketchup.
