NewsBusters has learned that presumptive Democrat presidential nominee Barack Obama has cancelled plans to visit two U.S. military bases while in Germany, this despite having all kinds of time to speak to gushing Berliners as well as getting in a workout at the Ritz Carlton.
One of the bases, The Landstuhl Regional Medical Center, "is an overseas military hospital operated by the U.S. Army and the Department of Defense...[that] serves as the nearest treatment center for wounded soldiers coming from Iraq and Afghanistan."
Yet, as Ed Morrissey's Hot Air reported a few hours ago, Spiegel Online claimed at 1:42 PM local time (picture courtesy Chicago Tribune):

1:42 p.m.: SPIEGEL ONLINE has learned that Obama has cancelled a planned short visit to the Rammstein and Landstuhl US military bases in the southwest German state of Rhineland-Palatinate. The visits were planned for Friday. "Barack Obama will not be coming to us," a spokesperson for the US military hospital in Landstuhl announced. "I don't know why." Shortly before the same spokeswoman had announced a planned visit by Obama.

* A narcissistic megalomaniac - Check
* Brazenly Takes credit for other people’s accomplishments - Check
* Wants to build “youth” movement through State service - Check
* Acts as if in power before he is - Check
* Some followers believe him to be divine - Check
* Worshiped and aided greatly by the media - Check

The Obamao is as clueless as Little Bill Daggit.
The Obamao is just a sleeze, earlier he stated that he canceled because he didn’t want to spend his donators money to go visit the wounded.
It’s not whether the media care. They don’t but that is irrelevant. What matters is that sloughing off wounded GI’s puts the Anointed One in a bad light. That simply can’t be allowed.

The more important question is do I care? Do the wounded military and their families care?
What a slap in the face this was to the military wounded.

Obama: I do care about our troops.
vs.
Obama: I needed time to shoot hoops and could not visit the wounded troops.
Voice over — Who will every brave heart American vote for? Who will you vote for?
Maybe someone figured those troops have suffered enough?
Do they care that he lies about the committee's he's on in the Senate?
Do they care that he was dead wrong on the surge and is not man enough to admit it?
Do they care that he entrusted his childrens religious instruction to an American hating bigot?
Do they care......
Well, you get the point.
I spent some time at Rammstein recovering from wounds from Nam. I’ll bet the word spread fast that Obama would be there and faster that he was not.
