Did you know that your safety and security depend on gay men and lesbians?
An estimated 65,000 gay men and lesbians serve in the U.S. armed forces, though by law they cannot be open about their sexuality. As we fight two wars, our military is stretched thin. Those gay and lesbian soldiers, sailors, airmen, Marines and members of the Coast Guard are essential.

Where’s the barf alert?
We in the US Military , both active, Reserve and retired can do with out the anal proclivities of said perverts.
This is even less honest, if that’s possible, than saying the success of the US was built ‘on the backs’ of southern slaves.

“An estimated 65,000...”
Doubtful. Unless there are 64,000 really good chefs in the military.
Estimated by whom, and with what methodology?
Hey now, why are you asking logical followup questions?
“An estimated 65,000 gay men and lesbians serve in the U.S. armed forces, though by law they cannot be open about their sexuality.”
So, in the spirit of tolerance, I say to the 65,000 gay men and lesbians that serve or wish to serve...we are not interested in you being open about your sexuality — it is your issue, you deal with it.
Dumb this down and politize it all you want — the military has entirely way bigger fish to fry than to worry about whether or not Adam and Steve “feel good about their gayness.” Your Father should have done his job and raised you right.
Give me a break...if you want to be...be. Leave the rest of us out of it.
By making us deal with it you are asking us to sign on to your disgustingly anti social and immoral behavior — keep it to yourself please — and tolerate my choice to not tolerate your choice.
Serving is a privilege and some folks are just simply not cut out for military service. Period. Thank you, have a nice day!
I would be just as save and secure if they were not there. It might even be safer and more secure.
IF there are 65,000 gays in the US Armed forces then Iraq and Afghanistan should have their interiors well decorated by the time we leave - while the queers are out decorating the real men are getting decorated.
Those are the kinds of folks who would actually believe there are 65,000 active, practicing homosexuals in the US military.
Ah, yes, queer eye for the Infantry guy...got it.
but you’ll notice that this article was written by “a rear admiral, retired in June after 32 years of military service. His last position in active duty was deputy commander of the Navy Expeditionary Combat Command, which has 9,000 sailors serving in Iraq and Afghanistan.”
I'm guessing he, and others, are doing all of those things eh!
(Now that he's a retiree - wink, wink)
“but youll notice that this article was written by a rear admiral, retired in June after 32 years of military service.”
So what, he is in the clear minority on this issue, within the military. He is actually the radical fringe. There will always be political sellouts, looking to get nominated for Secretary of Defense or some Undersecretary in an Obama Administration. Below is a gem from this “general”.
“Sadly, we just don’t recognize the gay service members among us for who they are.”
That is an example of a piss poor commander. He doesn’t care about the mission. He cares about a job in an Obama Admin. Should conservative and liberals be noted as they collect their bronze stars (I’d love to see that breakdown)? How about meat eaters versus vegans or married versus single soldiers? I can see it now, “congrats to Donnie Wu, asian gay man, for going above and beyond the call of duty.
He’s probably already working for Obama anyway, I’d almost bank on it. Gaybees of a feather, flocking together. Let’s ask Sinclair about “don’t ask and don’t tell”. Figures that Obama would support this as well lol.
Hum, interesting. He was an admiral, correct. He served for 32 years correct. He was the deputy commander (reservist) of the Navy Expeditionary Combat Command 9,000 sailors...okay.
So, does he know how many were gay or lesbian? This is a really very important issue?
Because of if he did, and did not take the appropriate action — he, should have been held accountable for his failure to act and to provide this information to his ISIC so that the appropriate NCIS investigation could have been conducted — interesting point you bring up.
And his ISIC should have relieved him for failing to execise the appropriate actions to maintain good order and discipline in accordance with the UCMJ...if he was aware of gays and lesbians serving in his command.
Otherwise, lets just assume, he didn’t know.
I think I’m on to something here.
Given Sinclair’s claims, will Obama support the military’s longstanding “don’t ask, don’t tell” policy on gays in the military?”
