Driver told FBI agents U.S. could have killed bin Laden
McClatchy Newspapers ^ | July 25, 2008 | Carol Rosenberg

Posted on 07/26/2008 8:26:24 AM PDT by Entrepreneur

GUANTANAMO BAY NAVY BASE, Cuba — In his seventh of month of U.S. captivity, Osama bin Laden's driver told a pair of FBI agents that it was America's fault that the al Qaida leader was alive.

The message was, ''You had these opportunities, America. You didn't do anything,'' FBI agent George Crouch Jr. testified Friday at Salim Hamdan's war crimes trial.

The United States could have killed bin Laden in Khartoum, Sudan, before he moved to Afghanistan in 1996, Hamdan told his interrogators. They could have killed him after al Qaida's 1998 twin bombings at the U.S. Embassy bombings in Kenya and Tanzania. Or after the October 2000 suicide bombing of the USS Cole, at the port of Aden in Yemen, which left 17 U.S. sailors dead.

Instead, ''Bin Laden was emboldened.'' So he struck with the Sept. 11, 2001, attacks, leaving nearly 3,000 dead.

Obama’s Intl Advisor is Susan Rice, the Same Susan Rice who was Undersecretary of State for North Africa under Maddy Albright. the Same Susan Rice who squelched the offer of Sudan to hand over BinLaden — because she was in a snit-fit over Sudan’s human rights record.

The Rice Apple doesn’t fall far from the horse.

Bush has wiped out 3/4 or more of the Al Qaeda leadership and deposed one of the most murderous madmen in the 20th century.

Last we heard, Bin Laden is hiding out in a cave somewhere.

Clinton didnt have the fortitude or moral clarity to take OBL out when handed the opportunity THREE times.

Bin Laden also said when Clinton pulled the troops out of Somalia after the Black Hawk tragedy, that made him believe the US was “a paper tiger.”

The military was FURIOUS with Clinton for pulling them out.

Clinton is a bubba from the backwoods of Arkansas who was slick enough to fool 43% of the voters in this country...

Americans embracing their own destruction
What’s happened to the American spirit of independence, self-reliance and individual achievement? Well, for one thing, you have Marxists like Bill Clinton make this shameful statement, April 19, 1994: “When we got organized as a country, we wrote a fairly radical Constitution with a radical Bill of Rights, giving a radical amount of individual freedom to Americans, however there’s a lot of irresponsibility today in this country and so a lot of people say there’s too much personal freedom……..

Yes, I am sure this is an easy thing to do, just ask the Americans who have given their lives, and still are, in Afghanistan.

War is not a video game.

From what I understand, members of Hitler’s reign are still being discovered living among the population worldwide.

I would be happy to pay the expenses for any armchair general, be it Hillary Clinton, etc., to go over there and prove how easy it is it find Bin Laden.

And before Clinton, Carter.

We're still suffering from the foreign affairs debacles of Carter in Iran which allowed the radicals who are still there today to take over. Didn't Carter also give away the Panama Canal?

But, the biggest blunderers of all have to be FDR and LBJ who gave away the store with their socialist programs.

Yep ... he sure didn't like his fries cold .. And he also admitted this, and STILL the insane, traitorous idiots in Congress won't accept that they'd be dead now, if not for the heroes of Flight 93. It's inconceivable.

~~~
"But prosecutor Timothy Stone told the six-member jury of U.S. military officers who will decide Hamdan's guilt or innocence that Hamdan had inside knowledge of the 2001 attacks on the United States because he overheard a conversation between bin Laden and his deputy, Ayman al-Zawahiri.
"If they hadn't shot down the fourth plane it would've hit the dome," Stone, a Navy officer, said in his opening remarks.
The tribunal's chief prosecutor, Col. Lawrence Morris, later explained that Stone was quoting Hamdan in evidence that will be presented at trial. Morris declined to say if the "dome" was a reference to the U.S. Capitol.
"Virtually no one knew the intended target, but the accused knew," Stone said.
United Airlines Flight 93 crashed in a field in rural Pennsylvania. U.S. officials have never stated it was shot down although rumors saying that abound to this day."
~~~~

Reuters' outright lies: "shot down."
More proof that liberalism IS a deadly mental disease.

Add to that the bombing in Oklahoma City, the Waco slaughter of innocents under the direction of Ramsey Clark, the first bombing of the world trade center and 9/11 for more of the Clintoon gift.

Yet, there are so called conservatives, who still brag about defeating the evil George Bush and Bob Dole which enabled the Clintoons to do the above to America. Most of these same psychos now want to see Obama as president to punish America and Republicans. They are very dangerous people and are not conservatives or decent human beings.

In his seventh of month of U.S. captivity, Osama bin Laden’s driver told
a pair of FBI agents that it was America’s fault that the al Qaida
leader was alive.

In a way, he’s right.
Because our electorate returned Clinton to The White House for a
second term.

And the Republicans couldn’t come up with a better candidate than
Bob Dole in 1996 (no knock on Dole, but one on the Republican Party).

bin Laden’s drive would understand better if he read the account of
the Clinton’s staff to determine what to do in response to the Cole attack...
IIRC, it’s covered in the book (amazon link below); the consensus was
“leave it to the next Administration” and “it’s a legal/law-enforcement
problem”.
Only Richard Clark is mentioned as favoring an armed/punitive strike.
(I think none of the others at that meeting such as Janet Reno ever
denied the details as reported in the book).
That meeting was a great summation of the limp action by Clinton
and his “law-enforcement-only” approach to Islamic terrorism.

The time to strike an enemy is before, not after, he has hunkered down. Clinton had the opportunity to do that and he squandered it.

When Franklin Roosevelt died, Hitler was still still alive and kicking.

If Hitler had not invaded the Soviet Union and had stayed on friendly terms with Stalin, Hitler might have died of old age in 1978 in a retirement dacha in the Soviet Union long after after Germany surrendered to the U.S. following Truman's threats to give Germany the Nagasaki treatment.

Dateline: 23 February 1983, Somewhere in the Soviet Urals - Former German dictator Adolf Hitler died of natural causes last Tuesday at the age of 94 on his estate where he has lived with his wife, Eva Braun, since 1945, the Soviet Information Ministry announced today. Hitler's transfer of German missile technology to the USSR on the eve of his defeat by the Allies ensured him a warm welcome by the Soviets and a luxurious retirement that he has fully enjoyed for the past 38 years.
