They said they spend a lot of money on sleep overs and parties for the kids. They choose not to add presents to this, as the girls get presents from the party guests.

A couple of years ago, there was a nasty anti-Israel, anti-Jew cartoon competition sponsored by the Iranian government.
A group of Jewish Israelis was so incensed, they took it upon themselves to host a competing Jew-bashing competition, to show that nobody could outdo them. It was done in self-depreciating humor, but really highlights the different cultures.
