But isn’t voting for someone because he’s black demonstrating that race is the most important characteristic to you?

...as Morrissey points out, what Matthews is really saying is that he wants us to vote for Obama because he is half-black.

IOW Matthews is RACIST!

The liberals need to get their story straight, here is Pissy Matthews saying that kids aren’t racist, but the liberals in the UK say that kids are, their proof is that toddlers say “yuck” to funny foreign foods, that means they’re racist.

AA for the CiC is like using AA to choose your heart surgeon.

Why not? If you support AA you can't pick and choose when to apply it (as long as your own job isn't at stake).

Reminds me, that MSNBC is pretty darn WHITE.

Think like your kids for once. Think the way they think.

If I voted like a 7 year old without reasoning skills, I would vote for Obama.

Matthews is advocating that, as we approach the voting booth, we adults abandon everything we have learned about integrity, truth, committment, honesty, patriotism, and traditional values and simply become child-like and just simply pull the lever for Obama because he is half-black.

What a crock of horse manure!

Affirmative Action

A sure way to get the lesser of two qualified candidates for a given position:-)

Chris Matthews == a person who is NOT qualified for crap!

Nailed it. How is voting FOR someone because of their skin color any less racist than voting AGAINST someone for the same reason?

Looney-Toones is no longer a comic strip. It is alive and well in the Democratic party and its surrogates.

I think it would be great if, just for once, "journalists" like Chris Matthews could look at the two candidates and think like real journalists should, and say, "I'm not going to act like an unprofessional douchebag and cheerlead for the Democrat. Instead, I'm going to actually expend an effort to at least appear impartial."

"You may say I'm a dreamer, but I'm not the only one..."

“Kids don’t think about race. Think like your kids for once. Think the way they think.”

Sorry Chris, but Geraldine Ferrraro had it right. Many people are voting for Obama because he’s black, and the college kids more than anyone else.

During the 1950s and early ‘60s, panty raids were very popular. Some guy in the men’s dorm would yell, “panty raid” and scores of guys would stream out of the dorms and barge into the women’s dorms (illegal back then) and rush into the coeds room and steal items of underwear. I think the women actually cooperated with this in a goodnatured way. (Heard about it, before my time).

But I don’t think college kids have changed all that much. Still a lot of herd mentality and conformity. So, I think the college support for Obama is a lot like the old panty raids.. Someone yells, “let’s vote for the black guy” and off they go, or it’s just a sort of unspoken group understanding.

It is time to end affirmative action in all its forms in the US. Obama proves that a black man can aspire and possibly become the next president. Obama should be asked what he thinks of reparations for black Americans, though I won’t hold my breath waiting for a MSM reporter to ask the question.

“Colored Fountain” = racist
“No Whites Allowed” = Affirmative Action

Any Questions?

I hope for one thing when people go to vote: that they look at Barack’s background, that they look at the age of the two candidates, that they look at their abilities and really open up their hearts and say “what’s really good for my kids,” who don’t have any color awareness.

That's exactly what I plan to do. Obama has a mysterious and in some ways despicable background, he's a young neophyte, he has no real abilities to speak of, and he'll be horrible for our children.

The 70 and 80 year olds ought to tell this jerk that this country is more concerned about race than when they were kids.

There are too many illogical statements in the brief paragraph to properly dissect. First, I know of no 70 or 80 year-olds who have children who are too young to be racially conscious. Second, the fact that with age comes wisdom, if the senior citizen is half trying, would preclude just thinking like the “kids” do. Were that the case, we'd all just have ice cream and soda for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Third, most of us over the age of 55 have seen up close and personal the results of affirmative action (”AA”).

While I believe AA has been the most effective of all programs for disadvantaged blacks, I have seen the results of 30 years of hiring “management material” who feel they are being discriminated against when asked to perform at the level the rest of the staff is expected to perform. I find that the only thing puts the finishing touches on the fine educations acquired (in Medicine, Law and Business) is the experience obtained through fellowships, internships and then a few years of kick-a$$ performance with no racial discrimination gauntlet being thrown down.

Senator Obama has received an exquisite education, but he has not yet put in his time in the trenches. In five to ten years of service in the Senate with some weighty assignments, I'd say the guy has game. Right now, he's still working on his lay-up and running the greatest power in the world is not a slam-dunk.
