Nope, the way society works is OBEY THE LAW. That way you need not understand anyone, cops or illegal aliens or those just like you. All you need to do is obey the law.The trouble with absolutes, is that it is the symptom of an immature mind --- of any age.
Good luck with your world view.

(You're Government, it's not your money, and you never have to show a profit.)
Ha! While the cop may have been in the wrong, the bicyclist was acting illegally, which mitigates things. A few more arrests like that, and Critical Mass may start to rethink their actions. Bicycles belong on bike paths or sidewalks, not the road.

Sorry, but you misread me. I don't believe or even wish for absolutes. But I don't buy into your liberalism of "understanding" this or that person. The cop in question is just a thug. Your example is of people who believe they as a class are better than the people pay their salaries. But you see being a cop is their jobs and most people are more careful and absolute in their job.
I prefer cops using good discretion whether it involves the public or other cops. In fact I prefer more discretion with the public and less flexibility for those with a badge and a gun breaking any law.
