RUSH: Yesterday we had a caller on this program, Janet from Maine, and this is what Janet said.
BEGIN ARCHIVE CLIP
CALLER: I just wanted to posit a new idea about Obama, as to why he's not sweeping us all off our feet, even though he was causing women to faint earlier this year --
RUSH: Tell me.
CALLER: -- at the rallies.
RUSH: Tell me, tell me, say it, say it.
CALLER: He's not likable. It's really simple. The man is odious. He talks like a girl. You ran a clip yesterday of Gloria Steinem, excuse me, Jane Fonda.
RUSH: Jane Fonda, yes.
CALLER: Those two women are fairly interchangeable, and making the case for women's radio, the need for women's radio. Well, that could have been Obama opining on his version of foreign policy. It's pure psychobabble.
RUSH: Well, now wait a minute. Normally I would discount any assertion that Obama is unlikable. But when it comes to women assessing political characters, personalities, you gotta give it some weight. You gotta give this some credibility. It would have never occurred to me that Obama is unlikable. But you don't doubt women on stuff like this.

RUSH: That's exactly how it happened yesterday here on the EIB Network. One other thing, too, that I failed to notice during the call yesterday, when she said that he's not likable, "he talks like a girl." You know, if you listen to Obama, he is sort of a metrosexual type. I wouldn't use the word pansy, but he clearly is not the kind of guy that a real conservative woman is going to find to be a real man, a real guy. He's a touchy-feely kind of guy, and I think that's relevant, too. Now, in listening to that call again, after that call, I endorsed that woman's attitude, saying, don't doubt women like this. I got plenty of e-mail from people saying, "Rush, that's crazy. You're never going to get anywhere by saying Obama isn't likable." From the Chicago Sun-Times today, Carol Marin: "'Women Voters Aren't Warming to 'Cool' Obama.' -- A few hours after leaving the "Women for Obama" luncheon, I ran into Sarah, not her real name. I've known her for a few years. A single mom, she free-lances, working as many jobs as she can to support two growing boys. She dreams of a permanent gig with benefits, but it's still just a dream. A 37-year-old Democrat, she is also a college grad and a news junkie who has watched this campaign like a hawk. She surprised me with her anger Tuesday, saying she's voting for McCain. To Sarah, Barack Obama is like the organic chicken at lunch. Sleek, elegant, beautifully prepared. Too cool." My instincts again correct.
Dick Morris, Real Clear Politics: "'Obama's Women Problem' -- The problem is that older women don't like Obama as much as younger women do. While 70 percent of women under 40 have a favorable opinion of the Democratic candidate, only 58 percent of women in their 40s feel the same way, and only 52 percent of those over 50 see him favorably. Usually, the gender gap runs at least 10 points in each age group and, more usually, averages a 15-point differential. The lower gap in this race does not indicate any special popularity for McCain or negatives on Obama among men. Men are voting the way they usually do. It's women who are making the big difference and keeping this race tied." Dick Morris. My instincts yesterday totally correct in trusting the instincts of the caller. Women, as they get older, have a problem with this guy. Los Angeles Times, Peter Nicholas and Mark Z. Barabak: "Obama Meets with Key Women," is the headline. The thrust of this story is that he addresses sexism that existed in the Democrat Party. The women are still angry at the sexist treatment Hillary got, and, as such, Obama has to go and mollify them. So there is trouble with paradise, and our caller, Janet from Maine yesterday put her finger on it.
Brief time-out. We'll be back and continue right after this. Don't go anywhere. BREAK TRANSCRIPT
RUSH: Here's Sarah in Lancaster, California. Nice to have you, Sarah. Welcome to the program.
CALLER: Yes, hi, Rush! Oh, I'm thrilled to talk to you after, I don't know, 19 years. First, can I correct a faux pas that I made the first time I talked to you?
RUSH: You made a faux pas 19 years ago and you want to remind people?
CALLER: No, about two years ago regarding my husband of 15 years. He is the one who introduced me to your show; and when I talked to you two years ago, I forgot to say hi to him.
RUSH: And you've been paying the price ever since.
CALLER: Huge faux pas. It's just terrible. Poor man. Anyway, can I say hi to him? Yes?
RUSH: Yes, you may go right ahead.
CALLER: Okay, his name is Andrew. Hi, honey, love you, thank you for introducing me to Rush. Anyhow, so, I had to correct that. My point about Obama and why older women, say 40-plus, are losing our case for him: We know a smooth talker when we hear one. We may not want to admit that we're being fed a line or empty words, but we know it when we hear it. We're experienced enough. We're smart. We have so much going on in our lives, we get to a point that we want to hear substance.
RUSH: Well, now, wait, wait, just a second here, Sarah.
CALLER: Yes.
RUSH: Hang on. You're conservative, right?
CALLER: Yes, I am. Weeeell, I'm conservative --
RUSH: Well, wait. Therefore, Obama would never appeal to you, correct?
CALLER: Actually, the first time I saw him at the Democrat convention years ago, the first thing I said to my husband was, "That man's going to run for president," because he is shiny and new. He gives a good line; he's attractive. And, you know, people who do not -- mostly women who do not -- pay attention to the words coming out of his mouth --
RUSH: Yeah, but you see --
CALLER: -- and how it makes him --
RUSH: That's what this news is all about. Women are paying attention, and the older, more-informed and more-mature women are not buying the act. They're not buying into it at all. And the reason -- according to Dick Morris' polling data, anyway, the reason why everything is so close here -- is because women have not swallowed this thing whole and signed up, they're on the Kumbaya Express for hope and change in the future.

I’m sure the femi-hags liked it when he called that reporter “sweetie.”
Im sure the femi-hags liked it when he called that reporter sweetie.
She is very uncomfortable with Obama's arm around her.
Helen Thomas would be happy if a homeless guy whistled at her.
I felt some time ago, that Obama is like a pick up artist.
Pick up artists keep themselves a mystery as much as possible.
Because women are looking for disqualifiers always.
The less they know, the better chance the pick up artist has.
And people tend to project something positive in unknown areas when they intially like someone.
You should have heard the next caller. She called Rush sexist and worse.
Metrosexual dandy. Interesting line. May I steal it?
Based upon conversations with a number of "seasoned" women here in Florida, many of whom are old line Dems, I think that there is an essential truth here. He definitely isn't connecting with the over 45 female crowd, to include at least one overt lesbian couple. I find this to be absolutely fascinating.
LOL-she would get Chrissies tingle up her leg.
2008 - The Year Of The Mudshark.
When he came out of the meeting today with the Congressional Dems and gave Nancy Pelosi a kiss, the look on Pelosi’s face was priceless.
My wife immediately caught her reaction—I did not—and said—oh, she isn’t happy about that kiss!
And my wife is never wrong. About anything.
Isn’t that right, honey?
“Helen Thomas would be happy if a homeless guy whistled at her.”
Helen Thomas would be happy if a stray dog humped her leg! Is that too off color? If so, sorry!

Stay home on Tuesday, Ruby.
Go riot in Dever, Brenda
And set yourself Free
Go vote for McCain, Elaine.
Or hop on the Clinton Train!
Pull the lever for Barr, Star
Just listen to me (cause I’m a flag wavin’ FREEPin gal who loves her country!)
Yeah, but the dog would be scarred for life.
Poor thing would have to go to a doggie counselor.

I can tell you exactly why this is. Older women have already been through the ringer with a con. Most young women haven’t been screwed over in a really bad way by a smooth talking con man yet. Older women recognize this trait in him. And also most older women have had experience with the mean streaked woman like Michelle Obama. I know I’ve worked with a few and there is nothing like it.
That’s my take on it anyway.
Not only is he a slick dandy. He shucks and jives. He is a con artist willing to say what ever will get a vote. Arrogance is initially perceived as confidence but it quickly wears thin. Obama is wearing thin.
Obama sure doesn’t strike me as someone who, in a case of dire emergency, could shoot an animal, dress it out and bring it home. And that’s my principle criteria for a man I can trust and rely on when the chips are down.
I think G.W. and Chaney could do it, and Huck and maybe Romney and Zell Miller, but I can’t think of any other Dem who could.
