Me either, and I worked in New York's prison system for 23 years. Some of New York's prisons were allowing conjugal visits between male inmates and their wives. Since sex acts between inmates is against the rules, I wonder how California will deal with this situation. I'm assuming of course, that California also has conjugal visits. If two male inmates aren't allowed to have sex behind bars, how can the State allow two males, one an inmate, one a citizen, to have sex behind bars? The decision on this will be interesting. Simple solution: Ban conjugal visits. Nobody in prison should be getting laid.
No cable TV, weight rooms or other niceties either. In fact all prison sentences should be immediately cut in half and all prisoners should immediately be required to do hard labor for the duration of thier sentences. Let's make prison a place where no one wants to be.

I totally agree, but unfortunately, the courts don't, and they play a big role in the running of facilities. When they started letting inmates sue for rights behind bars, they created a monster.
