BEHEADING ON A GREYHOUND BUS
NEALZ NUZE ^ | 1 AUGUST 2008 | NEAL BOORTZ

Posted on 08/01/2008 7:15:03 AM PDT by Turret Gunner A20

Didja year about this one? Some maniac with a huge knife beheaded a man on a Greyhound bus in Canada. If you want a description of what happened, you can click here.

http://www.nationalpost.com/news/global-video/index.html?video=2805319

When the attack occurred the other passengers abandoned ship. Hard to blame them. Who wants to rush this maniac with a knife when everyone can get away? I do have a question though. What if someone – just one person on that bus – had a concealed carry permit and was carrying a gun. How would things have been different?

There's a problem though. This is Canada. No guns. No carry permits. No way to save this victim.

Oh well.

No, all I heard was that the victim was a 19 year old man, sitting next to the murderer, listening to his ipod. When the bus pulled over, in a rural area of Canada, the passengers and employees got out and somehow barricaded the door. The attacker was left inside, parading up & down in the bus with the severed head.

I wonder what this guy's nationality is?

“The trucker grabbed a crowbar....”

....might have been a Canadian trucker....a lot of American truckers keep stronger medicine than that in the cab.

China has it’s own muslim problem.

Still, it’s good to finally have a name.

He turned to another man nearby and asked for his help.
“I said, ‘Give me a hand and let's get this guy.' And the other guy took off,” he said.

Sheep.

It’s sounding more and more like Sudden Jihad Syndrome.

I used to ride greyhound when I was in college. Is there any worse place to go that a bus station? whether it be the port authority in NY, or station outside of St.Louis, why on earth are bus stations in the worst parts of town?

Why?

The mod who whacked them didn't confide in me.

I suspect the last one whacked yesterday was because there were already three running threads.

Yeah, I was thinking about Al Zarqawi too. By the way: I don’t think I will fall asleep in public transport in the upcoming 6 months or so...
Perhaps the killer was an envious insomniac?

think of the tragedies that happened at U.S. high schools in recent years. They surely are linked to that right to bear arms.

Nice try troll, but it won't fly. All school shootings are done in no gun zones, they are also(except for the college shooting)done by teens who stoled the weapons they used. If we truly had the right to keep and bear arms the school shootings wouldn't have happened as one of the teachers would have been armed and would have taken the shooters out before they did too much damage.

When I was in school we used to bring our deer rifles to school and go hunting after class, no one ever got shot any where on any schools in the US at that time. Your statement is just a fine example of liberal thinking and, as I said, it won't fly.

Amazing! Canadian pacifists rushing out of the bus while there the overhead racks contained countless primitive weapons to subdue this one sicko. Shame on you sorryass pacivism, Canada.

When I traveled I always had a knife or mace on me. I never trusted the people I was sitting next to, and made sure that I didn’t sleep on the bus.

Probably PC Anti-Truth Squad didn’t like the fact that the attacker is Asian. It’s considered racist to mention it, you know.

Usually, someone taking action is what prompts others, not asking them to help you.

On the other hand, there’s no way of denying that the right to bear arms (i.e.: a pistol or revolver) brings its own grave dangers with it, think of the tragedies that happened at U.S. high schools in recent years. They surely are linked to that right to bear arms.

They are linked to the fact that the perpetrators "bore arms", whether they should have or not. Criminals will get guns whether they are illegal or not, so their crimes aren't really related to that right.

It's the law-abiding who are affected by laws. They are the ones who are disarmed by anti-gun laws. It's because of those laws that there are more victims for the criminals to attack and kill without fear of an effective defense.

Had there been more armed citizens, each of those school shooting tragedies could have ended much more quickly, with fewer victims.

Imagine if some of the teachers in those schools were qualified and allowed to carry a concealed weapon. Can you see how the outcome could have been so much better? When only the police have effective defense against a gunman, then he knows he has lots of time to claim numerous lives before anyone will be able to stop him.

So: I don’t really see a great advantage in widespread carrying of guns, because many people can go off the deep end by one of life’s many possible tragedies, and then go on a killing spree.

Exactly. That's precisely why there is an advantage to more widespread carrying of guns!

The bad guys will get their weapons in spite of the law, and more guns in the hands of the good guys mean it's more likely the bad guys will be stopped more quickly, or that they won't even attempt their crimes because of the higher likelihood of being shot in the process.

In the USA, at least, the areas with the strongest anti-gun laws are mostly the ones with the highest gun-related crime. Those laws don't stop the criminals.

First: I am not a troll. You will notice that if you take the trouble to read all my other posts. Second: I stand corrected. But my statement is not an example of liberal thinking, not by far. It is, however, an example of not knowing the details of a situation. I should have informed myself better before writing what I wrote. All of which leaves untouched the fact that the American and European perspective on bearing arms differ hugely. I support the European view; and that is my good right as a citizen in the free part of the world and has nothing to do with liberalism or socialism per se. I hope I could clarify a couple of things here.
