John Hall, MOC, needs to get a real job. Maybe a swamper for a roustabout service. The oil patch is hiring, and we'll take just about anyone who is physically and mentally capable of doing the work and can pass the pre-hire drug test.

On second thought, after reading that diatribe, I am not sure he could pass the drug screening...

Just because you have the lease does not mean the feds will permit drilling there. Nor does that prevent them promulgating regulations or making rulings that you must jump through hoops which make a well cost-prohibitive, even at today's pices.

Even known producing zones will not be drilled if the BLM can stop it and wants to prevent it (think National Forrest, National Grasslands). The Federal Government owns over half of the land west of the Mississippi, and I have seen individual BLM people who treat that land as their personal fiefdom, which might not be all bad, but there are a lot of dirt worshippers in the bunch.

They shouldn’t have left at Five O’Clock. That’s the problem. My comments have nothing to do with what WE can or can’t do. We did our part and were ready to do more. They left after promising to stay until they got the proper media attention and a call to reconvene. Stunt or not stunt, I really don’t much care. They didn’t follow through.
