Hiroshima Day remembrance. In California, Moonbats will be ragging on America again for defeating Japanese fascism. Corner of Seal Beach Boulevard and Pacific Coast Highway. Sunday, August 3, 2008. Counters are needed. From 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM.
That is so true. We would hear nothing else but how the glorious Red Army saved the world with its wonderful A-bomb, how Stalin - the most benevolent leader in history - had no other choice but to use it, etc. And if the Soviets had invaded Japan and turned it into a slave-state, Japan would now be an impoverished country and the moonbats would present it as a model of how a country should be run, much like they now praise or at least excuse North Korea.
And if the moonbats really believe nuclear war is so terrible, why aren't they doing something constructive like protesting Iran's attempt to get the bomb? Instead, they have nothing but praise for Iran's efforts.
Let’s not forget that these are the same whacko’s that want to let Iran get the bomb and use it on us or Israel.
Absolutely correct—Hiroshima was a life saver. The US had dropped tons of bombs on Japanese cities prior to that, with no effect whatsoever. The A-bombs let ‘em finally know we were serious.
These people are nothing but deniers and fascist apologists
You are insane. I mean, only a lune, a fool, or a traitor would call America’s bombing of Hiroshima “bullsh**t”.
My post # 26 has been pulled,,,SO,,,

If the US had to invade Japan, my dad’s battalion (760th FA BN) was set to go in one of the first waves. My dad - and most of his battalion - would probably not have survived.
My husband and I had the privilege of attending a reunion of my dad’s battalion. Only eight men there, and their wives.
Those men knew what was coming if they had to invade. They knew their chances of survival would be slim. You can imagine how they felt when Japan surrendered.
What they found when they went into Japan was that every man, woman and child was armed - even down to sharpened sticks - was expected to fight to the death. The dropping of that bomb was probably a relief for them as well. The old soldiers told us that the first day our soldiers occupied Japan, the people would not come out of their homes. They thought the American soldiers would be as brutal as their own soldiers. The day after that, when they realized that American soldiers weren’t like that, they came out of their homes and were actually very friendly and cooperative. They were glad it was over too.
I wish I’d asked my dad about it. I had to learn all of this at the reunion, and dad had passed away five years earlier, in 2000.
It’s probably one of the only good decisions a DEMOCRAT every made!
My son was there last year. (He’s navy - stationed in Japan), and said it really looks nice there - trees and landscaping - like a park, and modern buildings around it.
In years past Peter Jennings would have been the leader of the pack on this topic.
The Japanese were not strapping innocent children with bombs in order to kill people.
The Japanese were not forcing young men into forced servitude to perform Jihad.
What has never ceased to amaze me? How the MSM and liberals have tried to handle "Jihad" as tho "AQ/Taliban" were a country.
After 9-11, among the moonbatiest, I heard the refrain: Jihad is payback for Hiroshima, quite a number of times while in the SF Bay Area.
And how fascinating that members who helped organized the assault on 9-11 were also in the SF Bay Area; as well as a number of questionable cells, some provable/some not.
The attack on Pearl Harbor is never factored in; nor are any of the many, many "talks" the US was having with the involving warring countries. They did try the Obama "talking" line, time and time again. The U.S. and allied countries saw the Japanese escalation in force; and after repeated "talks" knew; the Japanese had to be stopped by force.
The liberals never think about those "talks". The liberals never give as fair time to thinking about the "talks" as they do to selective reasoning. And this is why they should not be elected President, CIC, etc. As they do not grasp the fullness of history and of historical lessons, they'd doom us to repeat past lessons. Lessons which have already been learned.
The Hiroshima Protest to be held is clearly a gathering of the historically impaired.
"sorry", the word in Japan and in England have somewhat different meanings than in the American "sorry".
“My Dad was a Marine, injured at Okinawa and healed up, ready for the invasion of the Japanese mainlandwhen Truman decided wisely to save many lives, by taking a few.”
....my Dad was at Okinawa too...he was with the 5th Marine Amphib group...they had just been through a 3 month battle with the Japs there and knew that invasion of the homeland would be even worse...I’m glad they dropped the bomb...my father came home alive.
One of my daughter-in-laws is a Japanese national also, and her dad (a history teacher in Japan) has said the same thing. He lost his parents in one of the bomb drops, but says he has no hard feeling against the U.S. for it. He completely understands.
