Tucson, Ariz. (AP) -- Four Mexican soldiers crossed into a remote area of Arizona and briefly held a U.S. Border Patrol agent at gunpoint before realizing where they were and returning to Mexico, U.S. authorities said.

Border Patrol spokeswoman Dove Crawford said the incident early Sunday on the Tohono O'odham Indian Reservation, about 85 miles southwest of Tucson, was in an area where the border likely was marked only with barbed wire.

State Department spokesman Gonzalo Gallegos in Washington said the encounter "stemmed from a momentary misunderstanding as to the exact location of the U.S.-Mexican border."

Crawford said there have been about 40 similar incursions along the entire border this fiscal year.

And there are STILL people at the highest levels of government who think we don't need a wall!!??

Build it, and build it now across the entire length of the US-Mexico border.

Wonder how many illegals came in while the agent was held up?

“Wonder how many illegals came in while the agent was held up?”

That’s exactly what they were doing, being decoys for a drug or illegal shipment.

See, the Gov doesn’t care about us!

But they’ll scramble a SWAT team loaded with combat tactical gear and have them go after some pencil-neck geek white guy who’s praticing Mormonism 1800’s style.

They won’t dare use that tricked out combat gear against gangstas and border incursions.

Agreed.

On another thread on this topic, I posted the following:

While not exactly operating under orders from Mexico City, the Mexican Army is most certainly acting under the direction and control of the Mexican military leadership—the leadership that is bought and paid for by the drug cartels.
These drug cartels have been using the Mexican Army as armed escort for many years now. They do this to protect the drug shipment.

In past, if the drug smuggler encountered the Border Patrol or other US law enforcement agencies, they would drop their load and run south. Now, however, with the Mexican military as escort, all they do is turn around and drive back to Mexico-—with their drug load. The Mexican military provides rear-guard action to protect the shipment.

What is different in this case, and not really reported, is the Mexican military tried to abduct the Border Patrol Agent, take him back into Mexico.

Why?

Here’s my thought on that: Along that area of border are buried and hidden sensors that alert the Border Patrol to the presence of people or vehicles making their way illegally north. The Mexican military wanted to abduct this agent and take him south to extract the location of the sensors. Of course, we all know how they would extract that information and what they would do with the agent after they got that information.

That is exactly what they were doing. Those scum-bags knew exactly where they were. I wish we had a President that would stand up to Mexico.

See?

I keep saying napalm, napalm, napalm. Now some of
our 21 CENTURY do-gooders keep saying napalm is outdated.
But let’s see how a bunch of members of the Mexican army
running around, screaming and slapping themselves while
on fire would prevent this sort of incursion.

Make me President. I’d declare every county on the Mexican border under military jurisdiction. I’d set up fire and command centers along the border. Anyone entering the country would be shot on sight. Then I’d take one Arizona county at a time and bring in every INS agent I could find to start arresting and deporting illegals. I’d set up open-air courts that would run 24/7. I’d declare martial law and extradite them within minutes of conviction. Then move on to the next county. I would confiscate all their material possessions and investments in the United States, including cars, cash, and homes. If Mexico raised a protest I’d declare a state of military conflict and national security. You want to get serious about this or just let them take over?

Each BP Agent has a list in his truck of the assigned number, and exact location of all the sensors in the area. It would be much simpler, and more exact to grab the list, and take it back to Mexico. I've seen the lists, and see agents using them regularly.

I’d vote for you.

Unfortunately, the rest of America is going to vote for World Citizen Obama or Juan McAmnesty this November.

We are so boned.
