Prayers that once again the medical community is proved wrong and they have a perfect baby.
A wonderful woman. God bless her and her husband for their unselfish choice.
96% of all babies given a diagnosis of Down’s Syndrome are killed in-utero (and who knows how often the baby is perfectly normal). I imagine the percentage of abortions is higher for situations like this woman’s.
God bless her and may her story inspire others.
I know several families with Down’s children and while there are certainly “difficulties” that are peculiar to Down’s, they are typically among the most loving children you will ever meet.
Twenty five years ago, I had a cousin born with very severe birth defects and my aunt and uncle knew when he was born that they would only be able to spend a very short time with them. He died when he was four days old, my aunt and uncle have said that they wouldn’t trade those few days for everything in the world.
The picture with the article show clearly the child does have a serious medical problem, that being said, God does do miracles.
Abortion is never the answer
God bless this mother who knows we are the servants, and not the masters, of life.
May God bless this woman and her family. If it be his will, bring this baby safely into the world, healthy and whole.
I don’t know how to read ultrasounds. I figure I’m doing good if I can tell it’s a baby, much less anything else.
I remember when I was offered to have the amniocentesis test performed on me because I was 37 years old pregnant with my first child and I flatly told the doctor, there would be no need for this test, the outcome surely would not factor into my decision to have my baby.
My son was born 23 days early and weighed in at 7.13. I would have loved him no matter how he was born. My son was born with low blood pressure and a team of doctors swarmed into the delivery room and off he went to the NICU but I had a calmness about myself because I was in the best Boston hospital for delivering babies..Brigham & Women's and he did a complete turn-a-round and joined me in my room.
My one and only 9 1/2 year old son can try my patience for sure from time to time but he is my one and only and I waited so long to have him, I am a happy lady!
All babies are special!
Same thing happened to my wife and I. He put a ton of pressure on us to get the test. We flatly told him, it wasn't going to happen and if we needed to change physicians, now was the time to fish or cut bait
We had to sign a waiver not to sue if there was a problem.
The caption on the ultrasound picture indicates that it is from an anonymous mother and does not indicate that there are any abnormalities.
We were advised to get the alpha fetoprotein test and I asked the NP if that was the one that gave a false positive at a ratio of 80:1 and she said, “Yes” and I said, “No”. I told her that it wouldn’t make any difference in our decision to keep the baby; abortion was not an option.
She looked me in the eye and said, “I wish more people felt that way.” and never had a bit of grief about it after that.
"Quality of Life" my foot.
All men and women are destined for the grave eventually. They will not escape. The oppressors will be judged, and the oppressees vindicated.
The LORD bless and keep this women, her husband, and their son, and multiply these blessings.
