Election '08: Barack Obama says Washington shouldn't just offer apologies for slavery, but also "deeds." Don't worry, he says, he's not talking about direct reparations. Relieved? Don't be.
...Among other things, he proposes:
•...faith-based grants "targeting ex-offenders."
• Subsidizing supermarket chains that relocate to the inner city to deliver "fresh produce" to blacks, helping wean them off unhealthy fast food.
• Imposing "goals and timetables for minority hiring" on large corporations...deemed too white.
• Continuing to fund ...Head Start and HUD public housing subsidies.
• Funding Small Business Administration loans for minority businesses who train ex-felons...for the "green jobs" of the future...
• Doubling the funding for federal after-school programs such as midnight basketball.
• Subsidizing job training, day care, transportation for inner-city poor...
• Expanding the eligibility of the earned income tax credit...
• Adopting entire inner-city neighborhoods as wards of the federal government.
• Spending billions on new inner-city employment programs....
....This is just a down payment on the "economic justice" Obama...promised the NAACP... "The problems of inner-city poverty arise from our failure to face up to an often tragic past," Obama said.
Now it's payback time.

Oh, let's not forget the Copperhead Democrats who pressed Lincoln to end the fighting and negotiate an immediate peace with the Confederates.
Oh yeah, and while they're at it, I’m still waiting for the Democrats’ outraged condemnation of the still-sitting senior Democrat senator Robert Byrd, who not only filibustered AGAINST the civil rights act of 1964 in the Senate, and was an officer in the KKK, but who dared to go on national TV (in the 21st century, yet) to demonstrate his evolved racial understanding by graciously conceding that you don't have to be black to be a "nigger."
I recently made these points to a Democrat of my acquaintance, who responded with the standard "yeah but the Democrats have changed" -- as if America as a whole hasn't.
Yeah. Rape the taxpayer for more billions to give to people that foul their own nest.
However reparations are a smokescreen. Like all govt programs most of the money will be raked off in graft, stolen outright by aldermen and paid to the low IQ, criminally inclined, unemployables euphemistically known as govt employees.
obama would like to increase the minority numbers in big corporations that are deemed to white. Well my question on that is, How do you justify a 50/50 split in anything corporation or school, minorities make up less than 25% of the population and blacks only make up 13% of the population. So why should you have a 50/50 split in the work force. It seems to me that when you require a 50/50 split in the workforce you will have more people out of work because preference is being shown to one race over another. Isn't that called discrimination.
Oh I forgot not as long as it is against the majority.
How about letting the companies hire on basis of qualifications not quotas because of race.

Libs see people much as dogs who are in need of "training" rather than rational beings who can direct their own life. It is a condescending attitude toward others.

just another excuse for taxation.
But not Wal*Mart I'd wager. The Government would subsidize the stores and tell them what to sell and how much to sell it for.
