Prince George's County police Chief Melvin C. High said yesterday that a suburban Washington mayor and his wife were "innocent victims of drug traffickers"....

I agree. The police and their zealotry to conduct these brutish raids - apparently with the goal of terrorizing people and killing pets - does damned little to restrain the illegal drug trade. It does however continue to qualify the jackboots participating in medals, commendations and Federal grants.
Since it was the police who brought the drugs to the suburb, and personally delivered them to the mayor's house without his knowledge, the Chief's statememt is technically accurate.
Exactly.
If the police had simply showed up with a proper warrant instead of playing “special forces”, everyone would have been fine, and their dogs would still be alive. In addition they would have still gotten the perps.
There is simply NO excuse for what happened.
The only reason this story is getting any notice is because it was the Mayor. This happens to many other people who are sacrificed by the prosecutors rather than the DA admitting they were wrong.
Not really a comment on the subject matter, but if they are married, shouldn't her last name be "Calvo"
Who names their child Cheye and Trinity?
Is the name "Cheye" a play on name "Che"
Their parents must be a set of long hair aging hippies
They were attacked by government agents and forced to watch their dogs being murdered over a pound of pot that wasn’t even theirs. Do their names matter?
The appearance and manner of Calvo and Tomsic are very, very clean-cut. I think your speculation is far off the mark.
“innocent victims of drug traffickers”
LOL - They are victims of an out of control militarized police force. This crap has expanded throughout the country and these attacks and victimization of the people police are supposed to supposedly “protect and serve” are happening daily nationwide. We only hear about this one because of the mayor. We hear a bit about the ones where the wrong house was victimized, and the offenders on MY freakin payroll get MEDALS for it.
Stop the militarization of our police forces!
Those are the dog’s names. The mayor and wife are not hippies. See previous photos on other threads.
Yep, and when the mayor is finally done with him and the others responsible, he’ll regret it even more I’ll wager.

Do their names matter?
Like I said, it was not a comment on the subject matter, but I find it a strange that people who are married don't take the same name. As far as I know only progressives, liberals, think it's OK to flaunt traditional marriage.
If he is a flaming moonbat, which I have no idea if he is, the WOD has found a mark that maybe the MSM will pay attention to
When No knocks, at the wrong address happens: dog killing, tazer grandma, frighten children, arrest your family LEO assault raids poor people, redneck or your average Joe Citizen, the MSM never seem to report it
It seems to me that these so called police units have gotten more than out of control.
Why in the name of all that is sacred to America do we need overly armed men in black ski masks breaking into citizens homes with shoot first orders.
These units are openly violating the constitution.
Ever since the RICO laws were enacted many law enforcement officials see these laws as ways to equip their departments with car's and equipment they can not afford.
It is time to repeal the RICO laws and the sooner the better.
Yeah, it sucks that the general population has to wait until the failed drug war and SWAT abuse hits a mayor to actually care about it. But to be fair, a lot of us have been outraged about it for years.

That's my source for my comment
Is the Baltimore Sun wrong?
Get a grip. Cheye is a take on Cheyenne.
I said their parents were "maybe" hippies because of the names they gave their children
Yeah, clean cut people never smoke dope < / s>
You need to get out more. I wait for the fool political opinion broadcast before I typecast somebody. A woman who is a well-known writer might keep her maiden name for publicity purposes. A woman who is a surgeon might keep her maiden name for patient familiarity purposes. Is it strictly traditional? No. Are they for sure commies? No.
Back on topic... I keep a weapon at hand almost all the time in my house. Paranoid? Maybe. But if my door came crashing in somebody would die before they got to the cats and Mrs. Felis (yes we're over the top conservatives and yes she has my last name) if the intruders weren't screaming "POLICE" and were obviously the real thing. .
The Baltimore Sun wrong? Many times, but not here.
Kindly point out where I posted a comment that justifies what happens to these people. If you read what I wrote
I was hopeful the MSM would actually run with this incident so the larger issue gets some press coverage
Your reading comprehension skills need an upgrade.
Even if their parents are aging hippies, why would that justify this incident?
Fueled With Drug Enforcement Money, Military-Style Police Teams Are Exploding In The Backwoods Of Wisconsin
-snip-
Except for the fact that they were not even suspected of a crime, the Olvedas' experience is not as rare as one might think. Throughout rural Wisconsin, squads of cops in black battle dress armed with military-style weapons and trained in "dynamic entry" are becoming increasingly active.
Since January 2000 alone, six SWAT teams were put into action in the state, most recently in tiny Forest County, where only 18 patrol officers serve a 1,000-square-mile jurisdiction with a population of just over 9,000.

I would think the Mayor and his wife of a town would hold to more traditional norms, but that's JMO
CCW myself. Paranoid. No ! Just prepared
....mandate is the law.....
...and revenue collection beyond playing with dangerous toys to subjugate the masses.
“protect and serve” - They still have it on the police cars in places. Oughta come off.
oops. :-)
Meant to add comments to that. Nevermind.
Anyone know the mayor's views on it prior to this?
No more No Knock Raids on citizens homes. No more dark suited ninja's either. No more unmarked car routine traffic stops is another. Except for actual undercover work all law enforcement officers while on duty making contact with the public should be in a uniform with badge in plain sight. Is that asking too much?
I support law enforcement in general but many police chiefs are getting way out of hand and crossing the line between actual police work and are focusing on controlling citizens lives. They need to be stopped trying to make themselves out as being our benevolent overlords.
So, mentioning that their parents might be aging hippies is besides the point. Oh, ok. I agree. Totally irrelevant.V’s wife.
You questioning the spelling of their names is an obvious cockn'bull attempt to discredit these people and has zip to do with the facts regarding this incident.
I was not discrediting these people, just wondering why they had strange names and do not keep with traditional marriage rituals
You are entitled to your wrong opinion

Cpl. Stephen Pacheco, a county police spokesman, said the agency has begun a review of the incident that is common in cases where force is used by police, “to make sure everything was done correctly.”
Just amazing, isn’t it? They’re still operating from the standpoint that what they did was correct. Their own review is merely to backup that claim.
A lot of people claim the war on drugs is a collosal failure. I disagree. If the purpose was actually to put more power and control over the populace into the hands of government, it was a smashing success.
It’s win-win for the police. They get power and control over the very lives of anyone they target, and get to play Rambo at the same time.
I don't see how anything was done correctly.
My mistake.
Hate to tell you but my wife of thirty six years uses her maiden name. Why not? It was the name she 'traditionally' had right up to when we got married; you wouldn't want her to abandon tradition, would you?
The Sheriff’s office did this. PG Police are off the hook this time ~ a rare event Fur Shur.
The PG Police did what? We need a reference on that one from a reliable source.
Might read up on it.
So, how was it these sheriff's offices spread throughout the country and what is it they do?
Uh, you do know who did this raid, right?
What more could you want"?
The Sheriff's office did the deed!
Gad!
And looking around the names on just this thread alone, is there a problem with their names?
It's whatever they want it to be in a free country blowhard.
We'd better put in the call, give the locals a heads up. No doubt they overlooked this glaring piece of incriminating evidence in their investigation. How could they not connect the dots when the mother in law in was discovered in the kitchen?
In addition, they should probably exhume the dead dogs, and search their carcasses for drugs.
can you say OOPS!?
At least there was a warrant presumably signed by a judge. If that is the case and it was done properly there can be no charges filed against the officers, But I wouldn’t expect much for their careers.
