Wow, who could have imagined that when he bravely offered to submit to a paternity test that there would be such an abrupt refusal from the mother to consider the idea???
So does Rielle agree that she’s a slut as John Edwards suggests, or she simply knows he is the father, he knows it, and no testing is necessary so long as the ‘financial’ arrangements have been set?
Um, no. They only need DNA from the potential father, and that of the child. One assumes the potential father is not related to the potential mother.
I'm guessing that Rielle wears the pants and Johnny-Breck-Girl wears the lingerie in this relationship.

Is this whole thing contingent on Elizabeth Edwards' passing away? If the poor woman dies within three years, as is usually the case with her current diagnosis, that's 3 years of $15K a month, or $540,000, which Rielle will earn by agreeing that she is indeed a slut that would sleep with Edwards, then turn around and sleep with one of his best friends, then still meet up with Edwards in the middle of the night at hotels.
After the funeral, who knows? Maybe Rielle gets her man; maybe he will have found something shinier by then. He's not the type of husband most women would want, anyway...

I bet someone on the staff at the hotel was bribed to go in and turn down the sheets or deliver the champagne with a cell phone cam hidden (thus the blurry spy photo). I bet it was "a photo of a rumpled Edwards $5000, Edwards and Rielle in the same shot, $10,000, and if you get Edwards holding the kid, a cool $15k!"
She won't allow the DNA test until she finds out John Boy is not really going to marry her. If he winds up a widower, he will marry a gorgeous young thing and presto, Hunter will suddenly demand DNA tests.

Yes. The two love birds richly deserve each other. Elizabeth could, for all the emotional support she really gets from the “legend in his own mirror”, clean his clock and let those two have each other. Neither of them is as cute as they seem to think they are.
It appears that you are correct. But I do know when paternity is trying to be established through a court order, both parents are ordered to give DNA.
Is the mother always tested?
No, but if she is, the paternity test may take less time and provide for a higher level of certainty. When the mother participates we are able to subtract her contribution to the child's DNA pattern before comparison to the tested man's.

I don’t know, he is pretty darn wealthy and she is entitled to just under 20% of his income with child support. Now it might not be $15,000 a month worth, but if he stops paying, she will have to pay alot of money to pursue it.
