John McCain, the Republican presidential nominee, on Monday upstaged George W. Bushs administration over the Georgia crisis with his strongest statement so far calling on the US and its allies to come together in universal condemnation of Russian aggression.
Mr McCain, who gave his first response early last Friday several hours before any official word from the Bush administration, said the US should take steps to assist Georgia and other democracies in the region that he said were threatened by Russias actions.

John McCain is the only brass US politician to deal with the emerging Russia properly. He is the right man at the right time.

Let’s see. Bush called for ten or twelve condemnations. McCain called for twelve or thirteen.
Damn I am impressed.

McCain is ready to be Commander-in-Chief.
Obama’s response represents a 3rd Bush term.

This is as it should be.
With the President's tenure coming to an end, McCain is the one who will be dealing with Russia in the long term now.
Russia may have made this move because they feel the US is weak with Obama ahead in the polls.
McCain is letting it be known it is most likely him they will be dealing with.

Russia may have unintentionally ensured that McCain will win the presidency. No one trusts Democrats to lead during a time of war.

At least McCain is not naive enough to look into Putin’s eyes and see a person he can trust.

To be fair to GWB, he argued directly with Putin during the opening ceremony. That's I believe, before McCain issued his statement. Well, actually I'm not sure when W talked to him since NBC delayed the ‘live report’ for many hours.

From Day One it was obvious to anyone that knows anything about history or International Relations that KGB Putin was Bad News.
When Bush made his comment about looking in Putin’s eyes I wanted to Puke!
