It has the makings of international intrigue. Less than two weeks before the Democratic National Convention a man has been found dead in a Denver hotel room with a container of what authorities initially suspect to be the deadly poison cyanide.
Adding to the intrigue is that the dead man, Saleman Abdirahman Dirie, 29, appears to be from outside the U.S. No passport was found on Dirie, who is believed to have entered the country from Canada.
A large container of a white powdery substance was found in the man's room on the fourth floor of the Burnsley Hotel at 10th and Grant.
Tests are now being done by the Denver Police Crime Lab to determine exactly what the substance is. The tests could take days.
It is not clear if the man died from the substance or some other cause.
Denver police are leading the investigation of the man's death. The FBI and other governmental agencies, including the Joint Terrorism Task Force, are assisting in the probe. Hazardous materials assistance has included the Colorado State Patrol and the Colorado National Guard.
FBI Special Agent in Charge James Davis told CBS 4 that nothing so far has been found to link the case to terrorism or the coming convention.
The investigation is continuing.
Not necessarily. Some Obamaniacs assure us that there are violent racists who pose a threat to his candidacy. CNN even repeated that angle.
I want to be clear that my opposition to Obama is not because of his skin color, I voted for Alan Keyes in the primary. I also want to state that I think it would set up a rotten chain of events if anything happened to Obama. We know what sort of hopes and dreams have already been sold on him. We heard the same about RFK and JFK Jr.. Even an accident (like JFK Jr.’s plane crash) providers fodder for conspiracy theorists for decades.
Defeat the Marxists at the polls. No one wonders what would’ve happened if McGovern or Mondale or Gore or Kerry had won.
Terrorists seek chaos and to cause terror. And there will be a large crowd assembled, for the political convention and for protest. The world press will be assembled.
I pray for a boring non-event.

It was the goal from the beginning to only plant fear...and not actually attempt the deed. Not yet anyway.
Too bad nobody told the dead guy.
This alone will cause tension and panic. No sense in actually going through with it and helping McCain win.
Its just plain old cocaine as if that any big deal anyways!! Somebody got into Obama & Michelle's stash and his 'boys' took care of the matter by having him do a gratuitious overdose.

I really pray for a boring non-event, particularly because one of my kids is on DPD. The cops are very much on the alert and I think Denver is really braced for it. At the same time, it strikes me as bizarre that the leftist party’s convention should have stirred up even more radical leftist moonbats. Strange.

Although the article in the Denver Post quotes a coronor saying that it was just a small bottle of cyanide “which you can buy”, a writer in the comment section said that the Denver CBS station (KCNC) said that he had two one-liter bottles of the stuff.
I think that the Democrats are glad to see it. They can play to the middle even though they believe the same nut theories.
The hard left is angry with Pelosi and Obama because they talk to the middle rather than standing proudly on the Left and saying “THIS is how it is going to be”.
They are too impatient for incremental change. They’ve wanted the revolution for 80+ years.
To clarify, the Democrats can play “Good Dem/Bad Dem” and say (but not truthfully) “we’re not as extreme as THAT!”.
I hope they are checking for any connection between this guy and any DNC catering services. Speaking for myself, I would not eat anything prepared by any Middle-Eastern looking guy until further notice

Cyanide in its various forms is deadly.
