That is horrible - I didn’t know Mr. Hayes was deceived and controlled by a cult. Scientology is evil, it exploits and finally destroys people.

Sheep are for shearing.

Up next, a soon to be drooling Tom and his wife, ‘Surge’ Cruise.

Bingo! It is Mormonism on Steroids.

I find it quite ironic that Hay’s memorial service will be held in a fairly conservative (all white) Presbyterian church.

That is a tragic story. Hayes gave us so much, to see his life crumble like that and fall victim first to those who gave him such a bad deal on his music to the false hope of the Scientologists makes me very sad. I hope he is at peace now. Thank you Isaac.

As a young kid, Isaac Hayes' music made me sit up and listen more closely. He had a gift that connected with millions. Seems as though he may have been too trusting a soul at many times in his life.

RIP.

They invaded Virginia Tech after the shooting and a riot almost broke out over their sound system. They freaked out a lot of people.

I ran across one of these places on Hollywood Blvd when I was young and before I knew what Scientology was. But as the lady was trying to hand me literature and lure me into the building, alarm bells went off in my head telling me to get away from this cult freak right now. I declined and went on my way.

I don’t see how anybody can fail to recognize them as a dangerous cult at first sight.

“ would you like to know if you are truly happy?”

I got that one. There were two of them. One was male one was a woman with what looked like two Michelins under her blouse. I said "You've got to be kidding me" and walked away, I thought it was a pimp and his girl. Hah, that's funny it was scientologists. If I get that again, I have to come up with a funny come back.

What a loss. Isaac Hayes was one of a kind. Most of you have probably never heard him sing "I Stand Accused" but it is great. I recently found it on you tube. It's not played on the radio because it's too long - about 11 minutes. Starts out slow but it's worth listening though. My favorite part about love "it's almost like being in quicksand. The more you struggle...mmmm...the deeper you sink.

Actually it’s “ the more you wiggle, mmm, the deeper you sink.”

I’m listening to it right now. It’s wonderful.

It sounds to me like Isaac might still be alive if not for the Scientologists.

He was one of the icons of American entertainment. Too bad he fell for that science fiction business. I loved him in South Park.
