This oil is owned by the American taxpayers.

OK, then only taxpayers (as opposed to the freeloaders that make up the base of Peloser's party) have a say in what gets done with that oil.

“We want to drill where the oil is. You don’t go grocery shopping in the hardware store. We know the oil is in Alaska, we know it’s in ANWR.

Pretty good line.

I don’t suppose the astute Larry King asked her about her personal financial state in renewable resource companies, which would benefit her if she can sway Congress toward funding said companies (like her “wind farm”)? Naw... silly quetion.

Anyone who thinks Pelosi will permit a legitimate (that is, honest) vote on drilling is kidding himself. It would be some sort of monstrous betrayal of the American people, like that offered by the “Gang of ten”, laden with such pork to peoples home states and with prohibitions against drilling withing 1000 miles of any living thing....you get the picture. It’s a phoney statement from a thug politician.

She will allow a vote on a totally unacceptable bill that includes not only drilling but tons of new taxes, but also new “environmental” regulations that make the permission to drill a hollow promise that will be tied up in the courts for a very long time.

“The oil companies drill. We give them money to drill there. But we get very little in return”

Really, Nancy? How much profit does the oil company make on a gallon of gas? How much profit does the government make (taxes)on the same gallon?

"Pelosi Blinks"

I refuse to read an article, even one in Human Events, whose title proclaims a manifest physical impossibility.

Oh, horse crap. The oil companies pay the government for their leases, and pay them an annual rent on top of that. They pay the government royalties on every barrel of oil they extract, and then they pay up to 35 percent tax on the profits. Who the heck is she trying to kid?
