I like it. Teachers should have the option to be armed (6 year old students, not quite so much - in class, anyway).
For other school districts that oppose firearms, however, they should at least permit non-lethal self-defense for teachers such as bean-bag guns, stun guns, stun grenades, pepper spray, and dogs.
Teachers are capable of being one line out of many in our defenses against terror and crimes that would otherwise be aimed at our children in school, so having all of them remain unarmed just begs for repeats of Columbine and Virginia Tech.

"North Texas school district will let teachers carry guns" As liberals flee the economic basket cases they caused for greener pastures, lets hope that headlines like this will make them think twice about moving to Texas.
We don't need any more stinking liberals (redundant).

Superintendent David Thweatt said the small community is a 30-minute drive from the sheriff’s office, leaving students and teachers without protection. He said the district’s lone campus sits 500 feet from heavily trafficked U.S. 287, which could make it a target.
“When the federal government started making schools gun-free zones, that’s when all of these shootings started. Why would you put it out there that a group of people can’t defend themselves? That’s like saying ‘sic ‘em’ to a dog,” Thweatt said in Friday’s online edition of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram.

Not against it from a 2A point of view ... but if I had a child in a school where the teachers felt the need to carry a gun to school, I’d yank them.
If a schools’ students are that dangerous, just close the damn school down.
The decent parents will make other arrangements. The others will carry on as before.
