BATON ROUGE, La. (AP) — Republican presidential candidate John McCain's trip to Louisiana won't include a visit with GOP Gov. Bobby Jindal, whose mention as a potential McCain running mate has fallen off in recent weeks.

McCain is scheduled to arrive in New Orleans on Monday night and plans to visit an oil rig off Louisiana's coast on Tuesday.

OK. That seals it for me. Jindal IS his running mate.

If they go to enough trouble to say McCain is going to Louisiana and specifically mention that he will NOT meet with Jindal, it's a smokescreen.

McCain would be well served to be covered by drilling mud.

Most people don’t know what it takes to bring oil to market.

I damn well know, as does my father and my deceased grandfather.

Obama might shoot hoops and body surf, but I’m willing to bet he couldn’t hold up one fricking day on the deck.

Wasn't aware of that - thanks.

BTW, your Freep Name wins my vote for most clever.

does this mean McCain will be foolish enough not to have a conservative person?

Weird. They usually meet with the Governor. But it isn’t unheard of since it has happened here in CA. President Bush, VP Cheney, Senator McCain, ect don’t always meet with the Gov.

Last I read Obama is a junior Senator.

In the oilfield, he’d be referred to as a “greenie”, a worm, in other words, not worthy of being called a roustabout.

exactly I would question any conservatives judgement to accept the offer. I wouldnt vote for mccains conservative vp, unless I knew he was thorn in his side the whole administration and fought with him. I dont see that ever happening, he would be more invisible than Chaney, just drug out to Rush's show to sway the r-bots.

why do you think he would listen to his vp? if he does pick a conservative it is to sway people like you. quite frankly he needs no swaying obama is terrible, mccain is bad. The GOP would have hit a homerun with a conservative candidate. right now I am dusting off my misery index no matter who get it. the only thing that will be different is the level of misery.

He should only be a 1 term President; if he doesn’t pass first.

mccain is stubborn, I would suspect he would stick in another 4 years if we dont beat him up enough. sounds like many of you are happy about it so he has nothing to fear. Obama is definately a 1 termer.
