DANNY Glover's movie project with Venezuelan strongman Hugo Chavez never got off the ground - and it's because of Hollywood's racism, Glover whines. Marxist Chavez was smart enough to offer just half the financing for the film, $18 million. Glover was supposed to get the other $18 million from a distributor, but no one in Hollywood was interested in a preachy film about Haitian independence hero Toussaint L'Ouverture. Glover told a Paris film seminar: "Producers said, It's a nice project, a great project . . . where are the white heroes?'

I once introduced him to a large crowd in DC. I was surprised to see that he was covered in flop sweat before he made his entrance.

This occurred well after he became a celebrity.

However, the more outlandish the lie (the claim that a movie producer of ANY race would actually ask “where are the white heros?” of a man who was planning a Toussaint L’Overture biography) the MORE likely the nut-bags on the far left are to believe it and start spouting it as fact.

I can believe it. Business is business. But what is Danny Glover's "standing"? He was in a few popular movies back in the 80s, right? He's probably best known as Mel Gibson's sidekick.

Denzel Washington is probably the most bankable "serious" black actor, and he's a leading man, not a sidekick/character guy like Glover. Will Smith is of course big time bank as well, but he's more of a fluff/summer movie kinda guy.

Danny Glover? Please. Show me the money.

I'll defend Hollywood on this one. Hollywood has tried every single black comedian or actor in movies and sitcoms and other than the Cosby Show and The Jeffersons they all fail. They come across as arrogant, ghetto, loud, obnoxious and in many cases plain gross.

Actually Danny, you can make the argument that blacks are OVERREPRESENTED in the media, especially considering the fact that hispanics and Asians are largely invisible on mainstream tv and motion pictures, relative to their share of the population.
