The answer to why this happened is right in the article. A few of the old timers are starting to wake up and smell the Kool-Aid. When someone who is second in the “Point” total turns on the anointed one it causes others to think about what they believe. And thinking is something that a socialist like the Anointed One can never allow to happen.

For example if you see a post here bashing a republican from someone with 1000+ posts and a sign up date from the 1990’s you might give their point of view some consideration., or at least try to argue with them. When you see the same sort of post from an account that just signed up today you just assume troll and move along. Or try to get a post in before the mods fire up the Zotmaster 9000.
