We ain’t stupid,we’ll beat you with your own money.
Well said!! Can’t agree with ya more.
Ditto that for me too! :)
Also recorded with Dylan (and George Harrison!)in NYC and Nashville. I believe he credited on Dylan’s Nashville Skyline.
Yep, a proud member of the redneck society of Alabama. Talk of Monkey town making me homesick. You know what I miss the most? The smell of the evening in Ala. Honeysuckle, jasmine, wisteria, camillias.......
Here’s a redneck girl checking in.
Charlie Daniels is a gentleman, and a patriot. Also, a talented musician. He can sure burn that fiddle, can’t he?
My favorites are “Still In Saigon,” and “The Devil Went Down To Georgia.”
The story behind how he recorded “Still In Saigon” is quite interesting.
But I can't agree with everything in this article. Real "rednecks" should:
Believe in God (or not), and proudly defend their right to express their faith...unless their faith forcefully suppresses non-believers' peaceful practice of their non-faith;
Love America and the American way of life, but not confuse true freedom with a symbol of freedom (pledge, flag, etc.);
Love their country, but be wary of their government (where have I heard that one?);
Fight for America militarily if needed, but avoid blindly accepting any excuse to go to war;
Avoid blindly accepting anything, actually;
Favor punishment for child molesters, but not confuse an innocent pat on the rear for "child molestation";
Etc.
You see where I'm going with this.
Ever since I learned to think rationally sometime around high school, I've been annoyed with the East-Coast liberal mentality. Yet I'm also cautious of the red-state "kill 'em all and let God sort 'em out" mindset. I'm absolutely terrified when the two cross paths, 'cos it's never for the better. I wish we can have a redneck President...only the right kind of "redneck."
Well said my friend......
Charlie puts on one heck of a party for his fans every June. For the $20 membership you get a newsletter, a T-Shirt, an autographed pic but the kicker is the party itself. We go to Mt Juliet Tennessee, and he feeds everyone BBQ, or burgers, hotdogs, and all the trimmings, has a meet and greet with everyone and signs anything you want him to and then he and the band do an imprompt concert of requests only. We all love many of the patriotic songs they do but one special request is asking his guitar player, Chris Wormer, to do his rendition of the “William Tell Overture” .... Chris is amazing on that guitar!
I think I know where I will be spending $20.00.....thank you for the info
I am not a counrty music fan (love bluegrass), but I did some two steppin’ to that song recorded in the early 80s
. . . Gimme a Gimme a redneck girl.
I think the title of the song was Redneck Girl (don’t know who recorded it).
We have a few of these gals on FR (grin).

On the website, there’s a FanClub link.
I’ve met many wonderful people at the party from across the nation and its like a homecoming getting to see them every year. For me it’s only a 1 hour drive to Mt Juliet. One lady that does sign interpretation for Charlie when he’s on the West Coast comes from Oregon. The 2 moderators for the forum are from Ohio and Virginia. Some other friends I’ve made come down from New Jersey. We usually pick a morning when everyone’s in town for Charlie and the rest of FanFare and meet for breakfast at Cracker Barrel. Good bunch of folk ... like Charlie!
Thank you Kimmers. I wake up every workday to a local classic rock station (comedy morning show - more banter, less music), but enjoy the rare instance when they play “The Devil Went Down to Georgia.” Really good tune. I remember Dominique Moceanu, young gymnast on the 1996 US Olympic team (I’m not creepy, just good with names...my original one takes about 2 hours to type), using that song for her floor routine, and thought that was pretty cool. Just one of many reasons to separate music from politics...
I would be happy to vote for a redneck president !
I, too, am one Kimmers! And dang proud of it!
A true fence sitter, if I ever saw one.
Wish I could watch ... have very slow dial-up (less than 20k bps) and videos are only a dream on my computer.
Hey, I fit the category too — Redneck Ladies United.
