McCain Prepares Rezko Ad; Wright "Now Fair Game"; GOP 527 Attacks
The Atlantic ^ | Thursday, August 21, 2008 | Marc Ambinder

Sen. John McCain's campaign is finishing a hard-hitting television ad highlighting Barack Obama 's ties to shady Chicago land dealer Tony Rezko, the one-time Obama patron who was convicted earlier this summer of fraud.

A campaign official said that the decision to Go Rezko was Obama's. "He's opened the door to this," the official said.

The ad will be released to network news divisions in time for their broadcasts tonight.

Though McCain is widely perceived to to drawn first blood by attacking Obama's character, the official said that the difference between Obama's mocking McCain for his wealth and his shaky answer on the number of homes he owns was that McCain's charge "reflects an existential reality," where Obama's charges "attack Cindy. She owns the homes. I thought he said the wives were off-limits."

McCain strategists hope that Obama's brass knuckles punch doesn't work. "Americans don't like this class warfare stuff," the official said. They aspire to be rich, the official said. They don't aspire to eat arugala or hang out with celebrities.

Earlier in the news cycle, McCain's press team invoked Obama's friendship with a former member of the Weatherman, William Ayres, and an official said that even Obama's former pastor, Rev. Jeremiah Wright, "is now fair game." The official declined to say whether the campaign was contemplating running an advertisement linking Obama to Wright.

Good! If the Democrats were to dump Obama (not gonna happen) they would lose the black vote this year, possibly cause riots at the convention, and destroy their party permanently.

Yes, riots and black will be pissed off. HOWEVER, they always return to the liberal plantation.

Funny how in all the media airburshing about Oessiah’s childhood the fact that his grandmother is very well off and a fat cat in Hawaiian bank circles gets glossed over. Oessiah’s upbringing was about as far from poverty as it is possible to be. He was a silver spoon baby.

Agility, initiative, depth and synchronization. The four tenets of the the 80’s era Army Air/Land Battle Doctrine. I sure hope the GOP starts hitting this guy hard and factually so he is exposed for the fraud and danger that he is. So far they’ve made a good start. Hit him hard and don’t let go. Keep him reeling and confuzaled.

Yup. I heard all about it. That, plus the borders is going to be a tough sell to many, but I will vote in November, and it won't be for Senator Obama or whomever the Libertarians run on the ticket. I won't waste my vote and I can't vote for Senator Obama because my faith prohibits me from receiving the sacraments if I do. I won't give them up for anyone.

I am so glad to see this response. I get so tired of seeing republicans playing nice when democrats play dirty. McCain needs to wipe the floor with Obama. There is lots of dirt on Obama that needs to be playing 24/7 in adds.

They should show a newborn baby lying on a cold stainless steel medical table and then have a voice say “Obama voted to let surviving aborted babies die on the medical table”. “Obama has associated and had mentors who are the most radical liberal Marxists in American, including Ayers and his pastor (and run clips of his pastor daming America).” “Obama is too extreme for American”.

Maybe, but I can conceive of no scenario where dumping Obama for Hillary at the convention would be anything but completely disastrous for the Democrats this year.

I can dream...it would be alot of fun to see ads of the presidential candidate being taken apart by his own VP candidate and vice versa!

You just know they were sitting on this and waiting for an opening - Obama made it too easy. See here, too.

So what? What's your point? If it weren't for his well-off grandmother, his ass would be planted in a hut with a thatched roof or a mud hut with a tin roof for all his father cared. I don't agree with his (or his family's politics or cronies, but I think he realizes that he owes it all to his “typical white person” grandmother and his mother's decision not to leave him in the middle of her anthopoligic adventures.

I don't know who I'll be voting for. I'm part of the undecided, at last! They always seemed to be the privileged characters in every prez election.

But I could vote for McCain with some confidence--like Hillary, he's the crook we know--if I believed that McCain would have an opposition in the House.

The point being all this blather about Obambis rough upbrining is pure hogwash. He was very very comfortable in the condo his grandma bought for him and ma. He is not some poor kid off the street like his campaign spins makes it out.

Does anyone know who sold Obama his mansion? That seller reduced the price 300k? No one does that for nothing, so who was it and what did they receive from Rezco or Bama in return?

hmmm?

I must have missed that. All I've heard is about his boarding school in Hawaii, his jetting to and fro with his international ties, his life in Indonesia, in Kenya. He chose to leave his cushy California University to head east for Columbia and he chose to sleep on the streets. His mother and grandmother probably thought he was off on his hippy bat just like old mom. I don't know, but I can assure you they taught him whatever “middle-classness” he has.

PH, I can understand your comment.

But as I said, blacks ALWAYS return to the rat planatation. Their hatred of America and Conservatives is greater than being upset with hellry.
