WASHINGTON John McCains presidential campaign is denying any connection to Jack Abramoff ally Ralph Reed and accusing Barack Obama and Democrats of taking desperate measures to link the two men together.
Its unfortunate that Barack and his allies have sunk to such depths that they are trying to draw connections that dont exist and everyone knows dont exist, McCain spokesman Tucker Bounds told FOXNews.com.
Reed, the former executive director of the Christian Coalition whose political career was thwarted last year by links to convicted lobbyist Abramoff, recently sent an e-mail to his friends urging them to attend a McCain fundraiser in Georgia this week. While Reed did not attend, the fundraiser took in $1.75 million for McCain.
In response, the Obama campaign produced an ad that began airing in Atlanta on Thursday linking Reed to the presumptive Republican presidential nominee.
It was one of Washingtons biggest scandals, the narrator says. And the Republican power broker Ralph Reed was in the middle of it. In deep with convicted felon and lobbyist Jack Abramoff. But when the Senate investigated, the senator in charge never even called Reed to testify. And that senator? John McCain. And whos now raising money for McCains campaign? Ralph Reed.

You'd think Ralph Reed was a terrorist who had tried to bomb the nation's capitol or something!
Dems are pathetic and have nothing but contempt for voters.
I guess JR wants to compare friends now?
LOL...Ralph Reed vs. William Ayers, Jeramiah Wright and Tony Rezko..bring it on!
Or an America hating racist preacher.
I almost feel a little sorry for Team Obama. Apparently, they’ve had this nugget in their bag for a long time, waiting for McCain to snipe at them for Resko.
McCain’s Resko ad was released today, and in response, they do this Ralph Reed ad.
Well, if he opens up examination of associations, McCain can just say “Bring it on. Tell me about Ayers, Dorn, Wright, Farrakhan, Rezko, Khaddafi, his Kenyan friend/cousin, his Communist mentor in Hawaii, etc., etc.” As one of McCain’s spokesmen said to Obama’s campaign, you don’t want to go there.
an attack on Ralph Reed will galvanize the evangelicals and draw more of them into McCain camp, i believe. good work, Obama! thanks for helping out.
Just how politically incompent are the O team?
The Dems must be nuts.
We all kinda THOUGHT that was true.....now we are convinced!
What on Earth is McCain doing hanging around this Reed "fellow?"
As if any Ralph Reed hater would vote for McCain anyway.
Another example of Obambi’s bad judgment—he forgets he lives in a glass mansion and shouldn’t be throwing stones.
