How Obama Reconciles Dueling Views on Economy ("Just tax the heck out of people")
New York Times ^

From NRO:

Obama: "Just Tax the Heck Out of People" [Mark Hemingway]

Buried in that 8,000 (!) word NYT magazine article about Obama's economic plan that I mentioned yesterday, is this bit flagged by Geraghty at Campaign Spot:

“If you talk to Warren [Buffet], he’ll tell you his preference is not to meddle in the economy at all — let the market work, however way it’s going to work, and then just tax the heck out of people at the end and just redistribute it,” Obama said. “That way you’re not impeding efficiency, and you’re achieving equity on the back end.” He continued by saying that he thought there was some merit in Buffett’s argument.

With the outright Marxist platform; blantant anti-American statements; close associates, mentors and friends who are terrorist, racists, communists; how can Obama be anywhere close to 40% in the polls. America has gone mad.

I’m pretty sure that Buffett was in a nudist colony with Becky Quick when he said that....he might have been confused!

If they started off with Buffett as a test case, I might be willing to consider this plan.

They are both radical Marxists. Plain and simple. Their whole purpose in “goverment” is POWER AND CONTROL. The critical issues of managing America are totally secondary, if even less important than that. The past performance of EVERY liberal leftist administration is unquestionable evidence to that FACT. Taxation, as Marx, Lenin and others have written, is a MEANS TO CONTROL THE PEOPLE. Control over the people and their rights is a major objective of these power-mad Marxists.

“If you talk to Warren [Buffet],”

That seems to be just another indication that Obama has no good working knowledge in economic matters, or any other matters important to the presidency. He has to quote Buffet to give some heft to what he wants to do. He knows what he wants to do, just take money from some and give it to others in the form of more government programs.

Don’t forget that part of Warren’s plan is that all wealthy Americans should have a Berkshire Hatthaway insurance policy for paying off their inheritance taxes. And he’s probably got some interest in the legal business that requires complicated trusts and foundations that allow the super-wealthy to avoid the pain of the death tax.

Warren really is enjoying his celebrity status in these latter years of his life — I guess he deserves it. But his special relationship with Becky Quick is getting to be a bit old and stale... like Warren and his dwindling judgment in evaluating candidates for the presidency.

Didn’t Warren Buffet start out as a corporate raider?
The Oracle of Omaha is a hypocrite, IMHO.

Contempt for the taxpayer. As Walter Mondale allegedly said at a rally, looking out at the adoring, cheering crowd, “Look at’em......we’re gonna tax the hell out of’em.”
