The heck he did. That bastard was looking for trouble. I don't buy the SOB's story for a second. You conveniently missed the part where he threatened to kill the dogs. Had my neighbor done that to my dogs, in my yard or his, he'd find himself on the receiving end of some bullets.
There is no way to tell what was really going on from a news article. I’m making a wild guess.
If I found his pit bull in my yard after having warned him once ... I'd put them down too. The pit bull owner was totally irresponsible.
Had my neighbor done that to my dogs, in my yard or his...............................................................................................So, you think it is OK for your dogs to venture onto others fenced property. Any stray in my fenced backyard will get the same treatment if I think my family or my pets are threatened.
I was in my garage one sunday morning, having a smoke and tinkering with the weed wacker, when i heard a low growl behind me....the neighbors “friendly” black lab was there, crouched down on it’s front paws, barring it’s teeth and growling at me....i hit it with a shovel, and told the neighbors...they gave me the typical “my dog would not hurt anyone” speech....if you cannot control your animal you have no right to own it, and a dog digging under your fence should be dealt with by shovel, bat or gun.....and sue the owner for damages and mental anguish over having to shoot the animal...
“...on the receiving end of some bullets....”
Dead dogs equal dead neighbors? Good luck with that one!
That's not the same thing as threatening to shoot a person, you know. The owner was warned to secure his animals (which IS his responsibility) and the neighbor made his intentions clear. The dogs' owner blew off the warning and the neighbor turned out to be a man of his word.
Had my neighbor done that to my dogs, in my yard or his, he'd find himself on the receiving end of some bullets.
No pet is worth serious prison time... especially when your own negligence caused the mess to begin with. But hey, the choice is yours. Give us your prisoner number and cellblock; we'll send you a fruitcake (sans hacksaw blade, sorry) at Christmas.
so you’re saying that YOUR inability to keep your property to yourself would trump your neighbor’s property rights and his right to life?
nice.
there was a fence, there was a warning. the dog that came thru was justifiable IMO.
however the dog that was found in his own yard, if he was shot there, the shooter should be strung up. there’s no possible excuse for that.
He’s already shown a penchant for shooting, while you’re posting on the interweb.
My money’s on him.
Hmmmmmmmmmm...The Village people did a song about you, didn’t they??? MACHO, MACHO MAN....*LOL*
You meet some of the toughest, baddest people alive on the internet....
I think the neighbor should have gotten his fence fixed after the first warning.
His daughter won’t be getting mauled or killed by those dogs. People have an obligation to control their animals and this owner had already been warned.
Occasionally on the farm we would get dogs who would pack up and chase the cattle (that kills them in the summer). We didn’t try to find the owners we just shot them, because we knew that they would be back and chances weren’t good that we’d be there the next time. When the dogs were not in the process of killing livestock, and you knew where the dog belonged, the response was always, “Not my dog. Couldn’t have been my dog. He’s been chained up all night.”
How many opportunities do think should have been provided for these Pit Bulls to mingle with his daughter? Should a man have to watch over his children with a gun in his own backyard?
That's premeditation in legal terms.
If you murder someone who shoots your dogs on THEIR property then you deserve to be charged with and convicted of said murder.
If I see a dog on MY property that growls at me, I will shoot that dog.
And if its owner tries to murder me, I will defend myself.
