The derangement of the left knows little bounds. John McCain isn't even particularly far to the right, which one might think would be a criterion for the left before one of them would defecate all over Godwin's Law. But that isn't the criterion at all. All you have to do is stand in their way.
In the 1960s, centrist liberals were treated by the hard left with savagery. Before that, it was the Trotskyites whose "names were named." The left will turn viciously on whoever opposes them. In some nations, it gets really bloody. In America, the left—including the Democrats—occasionally gets violent, and people have died because of it. But usually, it is just that their rhetoric and behavior crosses the line.
In this case, Madonna crosses the line, defiles the line, and then walks another mile down the road from the line:

John McCain's campaign has hit back at Madonna after the pop diva kicked off her world tour with a concert that bracketed the US presidential candidate with Adolf Hitler.
McCain campaign spokesman Tucker Bounds angrily condemned the segment of Madonna's concert in Cardiff on Saturday that appeared to draw a comparison between McCain, Hitler and Zimbabwean strongman Robert Mugabe.
Imagine a counterfactual scenario in which a U.S. sniper got Adolf Hitler in his sights and felled him in, say, 1944.
Other than morally confused people like Mike Farrell and his ilk, how many Americans would look on the sniper as anything other than a hero?
The reason is that Hitler needed killing.
But if John McCain is Hitler's equivalent, as Madonna suggests, then why should the left view the situation any differently? McCain will do terrible things. He might allow drilling in the ocean, which will lead the earth to explode suddenly and without warning. He might try to grant legal status to millions of immigrants from Mexico . . . oh wait, scratch that last one.
You might say that the left will never act this way—that it's only rhetoric.
However, just remember . . .
The left is clearly deranged. Not every one of them, but enough of them to justify the general statement. I wish Madonna were just some idiot performer whose assertions we can discount as nothing but an aberration. But we cannot.

“Writing in” Hillary’s name is a vote for McCain. Hillary fought a good battle, and would have been a good candidate, but the fact of the matter is that she did not win enough delegates to prevail.
If you cannot commit to the Democratic ticket as put forward after the Convention, you may be on the wrong website.

I have a suggestion to DNC and RNC. Get your f’ng acts together, throw out the corrupt ones that are on the take from the puppet masters, stop rigging primaries and manipulating the f’ng media and give us candidates we can all rally around and you won’t need scare tactic marketing to sell feces.

Alas, even though Fred made a decent showing, it was Rudy McRomney all the way. That is who the RNC wanted, that is who they got.
