U.S. immigration cops nab 595 in largest-ever raid

PHOENIX (Reuters) - U.S. immigration agents have arrested 595 people at a Mississippi factory in what was the largest workplace enforcement raid in the United States to date, an immigration official said on Tuesday.

Immigration and Customs Enforcement spokeswoman Barbara Gonzalez said federal agents arrested the workers in a raid at the Howard Industries Inc. factory in Laurel, Miss, on Monday,

"This is the largest targeted workplace enforcement operation we have carried out in the United States to date," Gonzalez told Reuters by telephone.

The swoop at the plant, which makes electrical equipment including transformers, was part of an ongoing investigation into identity theft and fraudulent use of Social Security and for illegal immigrants.

The nationalities of the detainees was not immediately available.

Gonzalez said 475 detainees were transferred to an ICE detention facility in Jena, Louisiana, while nine unaccompanied minors -- eight males and one female -- were placed in the custody of the office of refugee resettlement.

A further 106 people were released based on "humanitarian concerns," Gonzalez said.

Kobe Bryant? You seem to be suggesting all the blacks in all the ghettos are as wealthy as your basketball player. You had to point this out huh?

Pretty stupid comment.

But the ugly unspoken fact remains, even the red states like Texas, are all but over run by millions of illegals. Sanctuary city or not, millions of illegals pour in. In addition, major cites in Red states like Texas have even more violent crime than Los Angeles.

People really have to grasp the fact that this violent government sponsored invasion is no longer pandered to or isolated to the southwest.

Whose comment is stupid? Mine or yours. You want to paint a stereotype.

There are plenty of African Americans besides him who make more in a week than most people make in a year.

Is this America a great country or what? God Bless America!

In addition you jackaZZ, you popping off about with a comment about super rich like Koby Bryant in regards to millions of black Americans being hammered by this violent illegal invasion of millions is nothing short of dog sheet.

I’m not sure what your point is. There are plenty of African Americans who have used their God given skills to make a stupid amount of money and live the American dream.

Which part is “BS”?

Thanks, petitfour!

That’s quite a bit more than they originally thought.

As WKB said in his thread, this means more jobs for good Mississippians.

The young illegals look about the same. The main point in the illegal invasion, from the politicians’ point of view is to install a voting Democrat supermajority in the country and a solidly socialist America very soon. That will, of course begin to reduce ll those jobs as the economy enters into its inexorable decline.

My nephew is in charge of ICE in Jena, La.! I guess he’s pretty busy right now.

Give him our best wishes.

is to install a voting Democrat supermajority in the country and a solidly socialist America very soon.

This trend has been a concern of mine for a while. The Natural State of Man seems to be living confortably under some form of tyranny or other, when looking to the world's populations.

To have a significant population of proto-socialists in our midst is dangerous. I doubt they know what damage they will bring to us all when individualism is replaced by collectivism.

Sadly, too many 'Americans' have been beaten down by the collective pressure to perform as directed to receive a 'treat' from their Master. For many coming here from the south, this has been deeply ingrained over centuries. Adding this contingent to our already bent-spined socialists is a recipe for disaster.

America and the Titanic may have too much in common for my stomach. While I fight to throw off the yoke, others are gladly throwing them around their necks like life-savers.

And, should we succeed in denying those who'd put America and liberty on the chopping block this election cycle, we'll still have our 'Masters' who control our lives in ways so repugnant to liberty that one would be hard pressed to find a "Don't Blame Me, I Voted for George Washington" bumpersticker on any car.

If they were is was via fraud. Working married couples don’t qualify.

Singles either unless there are kids and then it’s iffy depending on what they were getting paid.

595!!
Good news!

Only eighteen million, nine hundred ninety nine thousand, four hundred and five more to go.
Give or take six or seven million.

Of course it's fraud. Happens all the time. Who is to know who these people really are anyway? False ID to work, another to drive, another for the bank acc't., another for the 'no document' mortgage.....

Amnesty From Government

Oh, an anarchist. Are you sure you're at the right place?

Regardless, I'd bet it could be shown by facts and figures that restrictions on immigration, illegal or otherwise, cost Americans jobs and lowers our salaries:

And, not a very logical thinker.

"Tax dollars at work, raiding productive American businesses, and disrupting communities and families. Movement towards a police state certainly won't fix the immigration problem."

BOO HOO. Enforcement is just one step toward "fixing" that problem. That company and those illegal aliens had no business attempting to evade our laws. They were asking for the raid and they got it. No sympathy found here.

"Another reason this country needs a guest worker program. What a terrible waste of resources for everyone involved."

LMAO! You do know a LEGAL guest worker program already exists, right? It's called a H2-A visa issued by the DOL. It's the one that doesn't involve stealing others' identity nor cheating and lying. It might not be as quick and 100% satisfactory to the millions eager to enter America, the land of the freebies, but it exists.
