I have a question. Will this thread continue into the next term of President? Will it depend on whether Obama or McCain is it?

I doubt it will continue if God forbid the empty suit gets elected, but with McCain, I have no idea.

We talked about whether this thread will continue after the election. It would be titled something like “The Day in the Life of the President of the United States” and it would be a way to keep track of what’s happening in our country, no matter who is elected. This thread has been invaluable to us in learning the TRUTH about politics.

Of course, it’s easy for me to talk because I’m unable, for health reasons, to be a presenter. We’re hoping others will volunteer.

KAS!

Thanks for giving us today’s news in our President’s life. Without you presenters, we’d still be depending on the Drive Bys.

I agree it should continue after the election because W will be the President until the inauguration. I know a lot of the focus will shift to the President elect and the transition but like you said the thread offers more than just a photo essay.

Will this thread continue into the next term of President?

A lot may change by January 2009. We shall see.

GLIMMERS OF GOOD NEWS IN HOUSING REPORTS
Tuesday August 26, 5:37 pm ET
By J.W. Elphinstone, AP Business Writer

Home prices declines slow and the glut of new homes for sale begins to shrink

NEW YORK (AP) — While no one is ready to call the bottom of the worst housing collapse in decades, there were glimmers this week that the severity could be waning.
Reports Tuesday showed the glut of newly built homes on the market fell to a five month low last month, while the decline in home prices is starting to ease, and in some cities values are even starting to rise. What’s more, existing home sales rose slightly from June to July, according to data Monday.

“The bottom of the housing downturn is coming into view,” said Moody’s Economy.com Chief Economist Mark Zandi.

Just seeing those pictures again made me think of how he
and Laura are longing for the day when they don’t have to
deal with the media and congress and all the lies!

I will *sniff* miss them...but know they will be happy!

PARTY TIME: BUSH PLANS RARE STATE DINNER, NO.6

WASHINGTON - Break out the tuxedoes and fancy gowns. It’s time for a rare state dinner at the White House.

Not fond of parties, President Bush has thrown only five state dinners in the nearly eight years of his presidency.

No. 6 will be held on Sept. 15 in honor of Ghana’s president, John Kufuor, an Oxford-educated leader who came into power about the same time Bush did. Kufuor is given credit for economic reforms, open government and regional leadership. Ghana, working through the United Nations, has sent peacekeepers to Lebanon, Afghanistan, Rwanda, Pakistan and the Balkans.

If this thread continues as a DAY or WEEK IN THE ‘REAL LIFE’ OF PRESIDENT GEORGE W BUSH, then I will continue to contribute. If it becomes either a generic thread or a John McCain thread, then I will join President Bush in DOSE retirement.
