She openly favors abortion rights.

She believes that Roe was rightly decided.

She believes the Constitution guarantees a woman's right to have an abortion.

Kay Bailey Hutchinson is Pro-Choice, and OPENLY so.

DO NOT LET HER SUPPORTERS TRY AND SLIP THIS ONE BY YOU:

KBH is Pro-Choice, she is PRO-CHOICE She is PRO-CHOICE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

She voted for the partial birth abortion ban twice. I don't know why she voted for this crappy “sense of the Senate” but you're right she did. It very well could be that she is pro-life but would never vote to overturn Roe v. Wade.
Like I said, I don't want her as VP but I'm not convinced she's pro-choice with a 75% NRLC rating.

Southwest Airlines can have all the gates it wants at DFW airport, to fly to anywhere it wants. Oh, that’s right... they want to lock in their near monopoly at Love Field and not have to do battle with the big boys on a level playing field...

KBH is my senator (TX). In my opinion, she was the dumbest senator in Washington for a few years. Thankfully, Washington state elevated her to second dumbest senator when Patty Murray was elected.

L.P. (just IMHO)

IMHO, she does not know what she votes for. My lab mix can't explain why he likes to chase a ball, he just does.

“Kay Bailey Hutchison on Immigration”

But she also slipped language into a bill a few months back that removed the requirement that a fence be built along the border:

http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/1953412/posts

While watching the amnesty debate last summer, I often had the feeling that she wanted to bolt and join the pro-amnesty senators.

She’s very shaky on strict immigration enforcement.

Sad that she is a Republican and judges this way.

My tagline most definately applies here, I did not previously know this about Kay. Very disappointing.

The only way the states get to decide is if the POTUS nominates judges that will eventually overturn Roe.

Quite often when a POTUS is done serving due to death or term limit, the Vice President is the front runner for the job.

What kind of judges do you, as a pro-life conservative trust KBH, a pro-baby-murder politician, to nominate?

AA has a monopoly at DFW. SW at Love. I don’t like either monopoly. How about doing away with the corporate welfare that Kay Bailey has set up?

It's uncanny how being less than a total pro-life zealot on FR is a lot like being less than a total Obama supporter on DU.

There is no “less” though....one is either pro-life or one is not. I have learned from some of the more zealous pro-lifers around here that I myself am not pro-life enough because I happen to believe in three exceptions to any legislation outlawing abortion;

Life of the mother (not health)

Rape

Incest

I think that if someone says to me that Roe was rightly decided law or that we have a constitutional God given right to sacrifice our babies to the false God of convenience then no, that person is NOT pro-life. From what I understand, KBH is not, at least by my understanding, pro-life.

A pity. I really believe we need a woman in the two spot this year. But I am concerned that Sarah Palin is just not seasoned enough and could become a female Dan Quayle gaffe machine under pressure. Kay seemed like an ideal choice. But this Roe issue is probably a fatal one.

Kay's record cannot simply be labeled "pro-abortion". Her ratings:

Rated 7% by NARAL, indicating a pro-life voting record. (Dec 2003)

Rated 75% by the NRLC, indicating a mixed record on abortion. (Dec 2006)

Let's at least give her a chance to clarify her beliefs.

Dear montag813,

Ms. Hutchison is not an extremist pro-abort.

However, she believes that abortion is a constitutional “right,” and that Roe was rightly decided.

Here's a thread that TitansAFC asked me to post that gives the particulars of her vote in the United States Senate to affirm Roe v. Wade.
