My family was eating dinner one night at my mother in laws. Her husband who is a first generation Italian, union card carrying, life long Democrat said, “I'm voting for McCain because there is no way I'm voting for a colored man.” My liberal teenage daughter's eyes got as big around and saucers but she bit her tongue.

I am glad he doesn't call himself a Republican. More to the point though it is pretty obvious that my Mother in laws husband and your Democrat friends might be a little more typical of what might happen in the general election than some might think.

Oh, I'm sure there are plenty of people born prior to the civil rights movement that will not vote for a colored man....and that 70 something grandfather is possibly one of them however, that recently widowed single mom with the 6 year old son is in her mid-forties and I never would have expected that from her....never.

They both echoed the exact same sentiments about NObama and neither of them were together at the same event. Something big is going out there and I can only guess what it is......gas prices, a do nothing congress, Russian aggression in Georgia, years of empty dimrat promises, tax increases are the answer to everything????

Your guess is as good as mine...all I know is that I don't even remember this kind of anger back 1994 when both houses switched over to the right.
