Unfortunately, he didn't waste the $ 50,000 because he's bought a lot more publicity than that in his TV appearances. Remember that some regard publicity of any kind, even bad, and that which makes you look like a total fool, better than none.
On top of that, he gave his $ 50,000 to his nephew the bail bondsman to hold, so as long as Casey shows up for her court appearance, he hasn't even spent any of his $ unless his nephew stiffs him.

nah... the grandma is in on the deal too. If you look at the testimony the grandma makes during the hearing..she makes this weird little head nod and eyebrow lift when she said 'and nobody can prove anything...."... almost like a "wink-wink, nod-nod, say no-more, say no-more'

I think the young mom either accidently killed her or somehow allowed a situation to develop that killed her and she freaked out. If the whole chunk of that gene pool was chlorinated, it would benefit all of society.
