Tonight, there is a reasonable expectation that Obama will perform in front of 75,000 people at Invesco Field.
I understand they are shutting down highways and making special arrangements to enable the crowd to get to and from the event, and of course, there is parking to accommodate the crowd at the stadium.
When he appears on his podium he will finally see what a crowd of 75,000 actually looks like, and what he will see is about twice the size of what he actually saw in Berlin.
What will he think? Will he assume that there are 400,000 people in Invesco Field?
How will the press explain that a sea of humanity that we know cannot be more than 75,000 is, in fact about twice the size of the alleged 200,000 supposedly seen in Berlin?
Will they marvel, in retrospect, at how a crowd allegedly three times the size of the capacity of Invesco Field managed to assemble in the middle of a major European city without any parking facilities or special traffic arrangements and dispersed equally without any problem?.
When you look at Invesco Field (if you can bear to do so) tonight ask yourself how you would get that crowd into a riverside park a quarter mile long and 200 yards wide in Portland, because that's what the press claimed Obama already did.
Yes, tonight is going to reveal that we have been lied to yet again..
Can you just imagine the carbon footprint?

I hope there is a whole section with people in specific colored shirts that spell out GO McCain in the stands.
That would be funny.
That about what it will be...theatre......a greek tradegy! LOL!
how to get a big crowd to an event 101
This doesn't seem to be a very strong point. It's very easy to imagine 75,000 people in such a space — they would have about 10 square feet each.
I think if he tries to be specific, he will get picked apart. If he tries to be the Messiah, he will be get blasted like in Europe. I think we will have a great night.
Good point, I was being over generous in my size estimate so I went back to Google Earth and measured the space.
The area in question is actually an approximate triangle of 550 ft x 390 ft giving a space of about 108,000 sq ft, or 1.44 sq ft per person.
He'll think he's a god. He'll assume anything he wants to, no matter how incorrect or anti-American or goofy it is.
The revised space estimate does make your point. A crowd needs at least 2 sq. ft. per person (not including backpacks, signs, banners, and effigies of GWB).
I would put that closer to 4 sq ft per person, 2ft by 2ft. That would put everyone shoulder to shoulder and with 6 ins to spare in front and back, that's not very much.
You can't safely pack a crowd of anything like that size in tighter than that with no gangways and no crush barriers.
It would be a nightmare to be in the middle of it, especially with children. The police wouldn't allow it.
Those are good points. Also, crowds in public places tend to be more packed at the front & thin out at the back — they are generally more fluid there, with people moving about quite a bit.
