Where did I bash stay at home moms? She CHOSE to stay at home. She had the opportunity to make the decision and that’s my entire point. Good for her if that’s what works best for your family.

And the 1873 comment was about a specific e-mail that was read on Fox News where the writer said he was a Republican and was extremely disappointed with Palin because she should be at home raising her children and not in public office. Follow the thread, other people were annoyed, too.

I am a stay-at-home Mom because I choose to be. I think each woman, along with her husband, can make a decision for what is best for her family. My husband left it entirely up to me.

Rush is saying that the Drive-Bys keep saying that a real maverick pick would have been Joe Leiberman...RUSH: So why didn't Barry pick him! Also, Ron Fourier has a column entitled: Analysis: Palin’s age, inexperience rival Obama’s (AP)

Very interesting and very EXCITING development: In perusing various Hillary Clinton forums, I'm finding that these people are overwhelmingly embittered by Obama and ecstatic about the Palin pick. No joking. These people are actively talking about putting McCain/Palin bumper stickers next to their Hilary stickers. They're pumped up and want to work for the McCain campaign. Folks, this is big. The assumption that Hilary supporters would squawk at Palin's pro-life stance is clearly not an issue. It's about being a woman, and that's it. If that's the case, McCain is going to win big in November. Now you know why DU and the Obama Campaign are looking like someone just popped their balloon.

LOL, I wonder how many people will be voting for HER

The PUMAs will be. I've been browsing some of their sites this morning, and although they'd reconciled themselves to voting for McCain, they're THRILLED that he's nominated Gov. Palin. Not only because she's a woman, but because by pickin her, the REPUBLICAN Party has now poked a stick in the DNC and Obama's eye. Those PUMAs are angry.

This is what I am voting for: Palin 2012...

Hey, Bud, good to hear from ya. Same here. What a day this has been. The McCain campaign has not only flawless but brilliant. And now McCain has done the best he could to rally his conservative base. Who'd a thunk it!

And in 2012, if I'm around, God willing, I'll be jazzed for sure. Can't wait until this evening when C-Span reruns the rally so the wife can see.

She is one tough cookie for sure, but she could be my best friend. I think she has tremendous appeal to women. She is attractive in a non-threatening, not in-your-face kind of way, and she is just so down-to-earth.

I think Middle America will fall in love with her!

Just for giggles, the Sarah Palin “facts” are starting. Here is one I found on HotAir:

Fact: Alaska does not have the death penalty. Instead, murderers are offered the choice between life imprisonment or being given a one hour head start before Palin is allowed to hunt them down. So far, all have chosen life in prison.

[Obama] United States Senator ~ approx. 150 days served

Gov. Palin, as chief exec in charge of the Alaska National Guard has more military leadership experience than the Dem Presidential nominee and Vice-Presidential nominee, combined.

Gov. Palin has more executive experience that the Dem Presidential nominee and Vice-Presidential nominee, combined.

“Here is the difference: Republicans deal with a teenage pregnancy and provide a loving home for the baby....Democrats celebrate the pregnancy then kill the baby.”.......

Exactly! This situation has happened in my family. The child that was conceived is every bit as much a part of our family as are the ‘born in wedlock’ babies that followed. We all deal with the ‘flesh’, we are human and prone to stumble. God realizes this. That is why He sent us His Son!

The child that was born is my beloved grandson. I can’t imagine life without knowing him. AND, I never stopped loving his mom, my daughter. I didn’t kick her out, I didn’t berate her and humiliate her. I was just SO grateful that the very thought of aborting the baby (as encouraged by a couple of her ‘friends’), enraged her. She pulled her act together, had the baby.... and later married and had two more. She is today a GREAT wife and mother. I am PROUD of her.

For this choice, I will get a McCain bumpersticker.

I'd be interested to learn if money coming into McCain's campaign increases after this choice. All those folks who didn't want to donate before, might be willing to do so, now that he's chosen a solid conservative as Veep.

Little Lindsey must be pouting and having a temper tantrum today.

I bet he may have been promised AG or some similar high-level position.

I have a prediction (yes, another): Rush is reading stories by the Drive-Bys that are not thrilled with Barry. Watch the Dems find a way to yank him off the ticket and replace him with Mrs. Clinton. Clinton Inc. is feverishly at work as we speak.

(The Politico) DAYTON _ Sen. Charles Schumer is among the first out of the gates with Democratic reaction to the Sarah Palin selection.

“After the great success of the Democratic convention, the choice of Sarah Palin is surely a Hail Mary pass,” Schumer said. “It is a real role of the dice and shows how John McCain, Karl Rove et al realize what a strong position the Obama-Biden team and Democrats in general are in in this election.”

Schumer’s “roll of the dice” comment might come back to bite him _ that’s exactly the phrase Bill Clinton used against Obama during the primary season.

But Schumer rails on: “Certainly the choice of Palin puts to rest any argument about inexperience on the Democratic team and while Palin is a fine person, her lack of experience makes the thought of her assuming the presidency troubling. I particularly look forward to the Biden-Palin debate in Missouri.”

I am a 69 year old widower and got so energized by this brilliant pick, I had to do something so I cleaned out my cupboards while listening to Rush.

God Bless You, RetSignman! I got choked up reading your post! As my sweet dear Mom would say: God love ya!

Not gonna happen. The Blacks would revolt, and the Dems know it. They have to dance with the one they brought to the dance. They made the choice, now they have to live with it.

I can’t believe that jerk that e-mailed into Foxnews (saying he was a Republican which I doubt)

Totally a Faux Republican!

I thought when I heard him...that SOB is writing a total stereotype of what "he/she" thinks a lot of older white sexist conservative males feel. A-hole!

Also...where did they dig up so quickly all these repulsive democrat naysayers? I've never seen half of them and I don't think they had the lineup packed with republican talking heads on Biden's announcement. Did they?

OK. I was just checking which way you saw it. Yes, it is a family’s business.

Go McCain-Palin 2008!

Mona said it perfectly. Thanks for sharing it.

Sarah Palin’s speech was amazing, not just in her words but also in her dynamic delivery. This is a woman who says what she means and means what she says.

Who would have thought that John McCain would be the person who would give a rebirth to conservatism in the GOP and the nation.

I have to admit that I was surprised McCain went with a 'solid' conservative. I really throught he would got with Lieberman or Graham.

Charles Krauthammer was on FoxNews this morning, before the announcement. He was saying McCain should go with a 'safe' pick -- a Romney or Ridge, but definitely not an inexperienced unknown such as Palin.

Maybe word finally got to McCain that, in order to win, he MUST have the conservative vote. Without it, he is history.
