We are pleased to launch the John McCain-Sarah Palin 2008 web site!

Sarah Palin is currently the Governor of Alaska and assumed office in 2006. She is also the first female governor of Alaska.

We are confident Sarah Palin will make an excellent Vice Presidential candidate with John McCain and we congratulate her on her impeccable record of public service!

Well we know she visited wounded soldiers in Germany.
We know as Governor of a State she has more military experience (CinC of the National Guard) than either Obama and Biden.

I just wonder if she had been to visit her troops in Iraq and Afghanistan?

The liberal sexist attacks on her have also begun in the blogosphere.

Socialists are so big on diversity until you disagree politically with them. Then you are to be personally insulted in the most degrading terms. I loathe the tactics of the Left.

I'm pumped up about this election now. I just wish Palin was the top of the ticket. Maybe in a few years, huh!

Here's hoping she has eight years to learn the ropes!

Think of what that will mean to all those liberals who say that Mr. Mom's are so wonderful.

I don't know that he's exactly a Mr. Mom. I've read that he's an executive with BP -- something else that will drive the libs crazy.

Masterful campaign....perfect choice...base is excited...takes the wind out of Barack’s sails...and pisses Hillary off!!

I absolutely agree. I am part of those continually dissatisfied base voters and excited about politics again!!! Great pick. Now we can vote for McCain's successor to be an actual conservative. Now we have hope.

This was a good pick.
The Obama camp is naturally going to attack her, saying that she has less experience in office than Obama, so McCain’s charges are invalid.

But then hopefully McCain already has the retort lined up, that it’s not about how long you’ve been in office, but what you’ve accomplished since you’ve been there.
Then they will list off Palin’s numerous accomplishments and reforms over the past two years and contrast it with Obama big fat nada.

Then if they’re real sharp, they can stick it in with “Obama has proven he can deliver a good speech, but he can’t deliver results.”

Cynics and comparisons aside, this move was a great strategy. If they say it's because she is a woman, so...like so what — Biden wasn't a compromise for Obama?! If they attack her inexperience, it highlights his own — together with the Clarence Thomas “almost stepped in it” at Saddleback, it highlights his own. If they say “been there, done that,” who cares? It only counts if you can say she was elected IMHO.

Let's get her immersed in the talking points, make sure she has a voice that will resonate well (as opposed to Hillary's untrained nails on a chalkboard [by the way, she seems to have taken voice lessons — good move]) and see if she can think fast on her feet and get folks focused on the issues, rather than the “personalities” involved. This isn't “American Idol.” This is real life.

Amazes me....the media will NOT investigate Ayers or Wright....yet bring this up?

For some, a black person gets one mulligan after another when it comes to unethical/criminal behavior and associations. It's really sickening - we don't need an affirmative action President.

Well, leave it to good old biased CNN, that bastion of fair and balanced reporting(sarc)...within minutes after it was official, their reporters began negative reporting...picking apart anything they could come up with....she has no experience, how will she take care of her special needs baby, we just don’t know anything about her..on and on..and they are still doing it almost an hour later. Believe me, if I could get Fox News I’d be watching it...right now I’ve got CNN on Mute as I won’t listen to those pathetic reporters who are “covering” the event.

Also, not entirely sure an ex-beauty queen deserves the vp office.

Pretty girls can be smart too....

Great pick for America.

The web site is overloaded and is about as slow as Free Republic’s is today.

Also not entirely sure you make any sense. No one "deserves" the vp office. People have to earn it. If you truly want to be so naive as to think beauty queens automatically can't earn it, well, enjoy you're worldview of sand, Ostrich-Boy

She's clearly not ready to be President, so that issue's gone forever.

Not at all, because the Republican Veep nominee has the same experience as the Democrat PRESIDENTIAL nominee! I don't think the Obama people ought to be stressing her inexperience; it'll come back to bite them in the butt.

“Not happy with the choice; almost makes me want to stay home on voting day. Smacks of more ‘bread and circus’ celebrity type stuff.

Also, not entirely sure an ex-beauty queen deserves the vp office.”

You should be working for Olberman or Christie Matthews or just go to DU and leave the election adults.

Sounds like Sarah Palin is a solid limited govt and pro-life conservative. McCain has made a good choice.

Head and shoulders above the likes of Lieberman, Ridge, Giulaini and Romney.
