(CNN) – A leading House Democrat said Thursday John McCain's choice of Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin is a "risky" move that could ultimately prove disastrous to the Republican prospects in November.

Meanwhile, a top Senate Democrat said the pick is a "Hail Mary pass" and a "roll of the dice," in what is the initial reactions from McCain's rival party.

I am sorry but I have to get this out. Dems are all about FEELINGS: goosie loosen gushy make me cry make me have the big “O” kind of politics. I can't blame them too much because that is what they teach in our schools. If you are picking the LEADER OF THE FREE WORLD. you might want to rely on facts figures and a RESUME! They do not and never have. Clinton of r an example.

Why are they the party of the young the very old the infirm and the lower class out on their luck? Because this segment of the population do not ANALYZE the facts. They deal with emotion (whats in it for me). The Dem party does this for their votes. They do not give a crap about these people except for their votes. They promise them the world and give them nothing and only take the money and the power.
I am off the soap box now

My only concern now is how she’ll do against Biden at the debates.

She is tough as nails, she took on the corrupt political, republican I might add, machine in Alaska and won despite dirty tricks and double dealings from the crooks. She will kill Biden in any debate.

I am sure that to a CNN Reporter/Democrat perspective that Palin is risky.

What’s more ‘risky’ to a Democrat than a heterosexual woman who is married (to a man) with children, who loves to hunt/fish, belongs to the NRA, was a beauty pagent contestant, plays basketball, goes to church, was elected by more humans as Mayor and Govenor than all the votes Obama ever received.

Sure sounds risky to me given the hatred the Obama campaign has for women in general.

Yes our vice presidential candidate can't match the enormous foreign policy experience of their presidential candidate. After all Mr community organizer himself did give a speech in Germany, that counts...right?

Alll she will have to do is compliment Sen. Biden about what a thought provoking statement he just made — and then add with a question — “who was it that said that before?”

What caught my attention was the crowd chanting USA-USA-USA and not Obama-Obama.

Not unexpected, but ironic from a party whose nominee is supposedly going to do all of these wonderful things — change the country and even the world— and has no record of accomplishment.

The more I think about it, the best thing to do is just let Biden keep talking. At some point he’ll make himself look like a complete moron and pompous windbag.

As I said on an earlier thread, Pelosi will no longer be the most powerful woman in the world. I couldn’t be happier with this pick

The rats are running scared. They know they’ve lost the Clinton supporters, about 18 million I think, and the landslide is on.

"Experience is being taken off the table considering you're putting someone within a heartbeat of the presidency with the thinnest foreign policy experience in history," (Democrat)spokesman Bill Burton said.

Say what?

Like the 143 days of experience that the liberal BOWEL Movement has to show. Now, THAT is a disaster, just like his pastor.

Biden will be so cocky and condescending during the debates, he’ll defeat himself. I’m betting by the second debate he won’t be able to help himself and will call her “little lady”.

Remember Obama and his minions believe that small town people are so depressed and unstable they cling to guns and religion—they are afraid of us small town people. Their hatred is such a compliment!!

Just in case you're curious...posted at dailykos (It's okay; I washed my hands afterwards):

Worse Than Quayle
by Trapper John
Fri Aug 29, 2008 at 08:36:03 AM PDT

So it's official - John McCain has thrown a Hail Mary and tapped Alaska Governor Sarah Palin as his running mate. The trad med types are ga-ga about what a game-changing choice Palin is. And they're right. It is a game-changer. The Palin pick takes a race already leaning toward Obama and pushes it further into his corner.

Why? Because Sarah Palin is the most unqualified VP nominee in modern history, with the possible exception of Admiral Stockdale.

She's worse than Quayle.

I'll bet this guy is so scared, tonight he'll drive his Subaru Forrester into a lamppost.

The criticism from the Dems is the predictable “no experience” line. Excellent...everything’s going to plan.
