As for the children’s names, Track is named after the track and field season in which he was born, Bristol after Bristol Bay, Alaska, Willow after the state bird (the willow ptarmigan), and Piper after her father’s Piper Cub airplane. Don’t know what Trig is named for.

This race just got FUN again. Yes, I was going Libertarian, but after listening to her speech, I’m voting Republican again. Palin won me over.
Did the Dems have a convention this week? I don't remember. I do remember some stadium fireworks but that might have been the Communist Chinese ending the Olympics.
Gov. Palin is a mom, her youngest has down syndrome and she never even considered abortion. She is a hockey mom. Her eldest enlisted in the army and deploys to Iraq on Sept.11th. That means she wants to WIN!
Oh, and what a great public speaker. She has all that McCain lacks.
She is an NRA member. She got up at 3 AM when she was young to go hunt moose with her father.
She NAILED the female vote with her acknowledgment of Geraldine Ferraro and Hillary Clinton. “They put 18 million cracks in the glass ceiling and now we are going to shatter it!”
It reminds me of the movie DAVE when Frank Langella invites all his political cronies over to see the president resign on TV and instead the president fingers him. Suddenly Frank is all alone in his living room holding his election sign.
I imagine Obama and the Dems standing around in shock from the SHOCK AND AWE move by McCain.
the mistake the RATS will make is to belittle her working class background. The NE Libs will turn up their noises and reveal their true nature.

We’re going to win Michigan. Hockey is a way of life for Michiganders.
It’s also worth noting that Alaska is less than three miles from Russia. Kinda gives Palin a bit of foreign policy experience, moreso than Obama.
